PLOT:
Amos Fortune grew up a child of poverty. The son of a compulsive gambler, Amos and his mother were left penniless when his father's gambling addiction ultimately turned fatal. When he passed, the entirety of his father's estate consisted of one measly pack of "lucky" playing cards which he bequeathed to his son. A social pariah, Amos would spend all of his time learning to defend himself from bullies and playing with those cards, his only remaining link to his father. Ultimately he became somewhat of a child prodigy at card games.

He was so proficient at the art of cards that he began running a small gambling table on his school yard; swindling schoolmates out of chump change. Eventually this escalated to the point where he cultivated his own following. And in time, he and his new "friends" began forcibly shaking down other students for money instead of relying the games to earn money. This natural progression continued until Amos and his cohorts garnered the attention of a local mobster who took the crew under his wing. One day he decided to send Amos and the others to a high-stakes underground poker game to win some money. Amos, however, had other plans.

When one of the participants came to question Amos's good fortune, Amos responded by flinging the playing card at the man's throat, slicing his artery. His crew sprang into action and in no time, Amos and his friends were the only ones left standing. The money was theirs. He and his crew Never returning to the smalltime hood who had hired them, the gang instead took all the cash and invested it in cutting edge technology. Using the playing card as inspiration, Amos formed the Royal Flush Gang, christening himself the first Ace of Clubs. Though their exploits would cause them to cross paths with the JLA, eventually the gang began to grow and grow.

Now the Royal Flush Gang is a nation-wide criminal enterprise the scope of which allegedly has earned them a place on the radar of mega-criminals Intergang. Though, sometimes one can never tell when Amos is bluffing. One thing however is for sure, with operations in every major city across the country, Amos Fortune's band of rogues have been keeping the shattered remnants of the Justice League busy lately. When one satellite faction of the RFG attempts to pull a heist at the Diamond Exhibition in Midway City, the JLA is there to squash their plans. In an effort to get to the bottom of the RFG's plans and their seemingly random countrywide attacks, Mari has called in Wonder Woman to use her magic lasso to siphon the truth from the thugs. Unfortunately, just as Wondy's lasso wraps around the gang members, a kill-switch from within their suits activates, frying them instantly!

But it's okay. They are but mere pawns in a much larger game going on between Roulette and Amos Fortune. And the game is about to get amped up a few notches. The League is barely able to catch their breath before another emergency siren goes off. Members of the Royal Flush Gang are attacking institutions across the country! Reports of activity are streaming in from Los Angeles, Chicago and New York! Taking charge, Miri splits the League up into groups, dispatching each of them to a different location in hopes of stopping the Gang from reeking any more destruction!
