PLOT:
After helping the team defeat the Shadow Cabinet, Hawkman finally has a chance to warn them all of the threat brought him to the JLA Satellite in the first place. Carl Sands, the Shadow Thief has somehow tapped into a new substantial powerforce, amping up his abilities. He now possesses the capability to manipulate any shadow he comes into contact with to teleport through them similar to the Cabinet's Shadowslide technology. Unbeknownst to Hawkman however, Shadow Thief had already hitched a ride onto the Watchtower using Hawkman's own shadow.

Sands summons an army of Shadow Form Warriors from the shadows of the League and the Cabinet. As veritable evil twins the Shadow Warriors consist of the hidden dark natures of all those present and nearly succeed in defeating the heroes. Even the return of Superman and Icon is not enough to thwart the vicious doubles.

Fortunately, Batman and the rest of the JLA arrive via teleporter from Metropolis. Having been convinced of the Cabinet's good intentions, they bring with them the other Shadow Cabinet members and a newly re-charged Dr. Kimiyo Hoshi. Now outfitted in nanoantenna solar collectors by the Cabinet, Hardware hands Kimiyo the power that the deceased Arthur Light once stole from her. These things combined renew Kimiyo's powers and allow her to eradicate all of the Shadow Warriors and defeat Shadow Thief.

Even though his shadow armor evaporated in Dr. Light's blast of energy, Shadow Thief tells the heroes that his sacrificial objectives were still fulfilled. Curious as to what exactly that means, Superman uses his X-Ray vision and sees that Shadow Thief had somehow created a Shadow-form of the moon matching it's immense weight and mass and headed towards Earth. With not a moment to lose, Superman darts off into space and plunges headlong into the Shadow Moon, blasting into a million pieces and saving the planet.

Knocked unconscious by the blast, Superman awakens back at the Watchtower just in time to see the Shadow Cabinet prepare to leave. Still refusing to explain their actions, Hardware reveals that part of Shadow Thief's new shadow-armor was stolen from the Cabinet's own Shadowslide technology. With the technology returned and the Shadowslide back online, the team leaves the League behind wondering what the Cabinet's true motivations are.

Somewhere in the Himalayas, Icon returns to the Shadowspire for his de-briefing with Dharma. Although his psychic foresight told him of Icon's cooperation with Superman, in the end all things have gone according to his plan. The Shadowslide is functioning again and he believes that the Cabinet's assistance in returning Dr. Light's powers to her will be of some use in the future. Gazing into the future and seeing the Final Crisis that looms before the JLA, Dharma knows that they will not have the time to seek retribution against the Cabinet for their dishonest ways. But Dharma also realizes the greater threat facing them all and warns Icon that his dishonesty is only the beginning of what he may be asked to do in the troubled future ahead.
