PLOT:
While Batman, Black Lightning, Zatanna and Firestorm have their hands full with Payback and Starlight at Kimiyo Hoshi's house, the rest of the JLA is in a stand-off with the Shadow Cabinet in the Watchtower Satellite. A massive punch from Icon sends Superman flying through the Watchtower's hull and out into space inciting an all out battle between the two super groups. As the team members begin to square off against their analogs, Icon follows after Superman.

Once outside the walls of the space station however, Icon meets up with Superman and the two reveal that they had been in cahoots the whole time. Though he doesn't necessarily trust Icon and his cohorts, Superman realizes he has no reason to distrust them either. The two also agree that any instantaneous cooperation between the two factions could arouse the wrong suspicions and possibly derail Icon's plans. That plan of course being to escape the JLA Satellite with the remains of Dr. Light in an attempt to keep a "madman with the power of a God" from destroying everything they hold dear.

With the battle inside at a near standstill, Hardwire attempts to complete the mission by taking the shrunken down mortal remains and fleeing through the open portal back to the Hall of Justice. Unfortunately as he dives through the passage way his face collides with the Thanagarian armor of Hawkman himself. Badly beaten and bleeding, Carter stumbles across the threshold and informs the League that Shadow Thief is trying to destroy the Earth!
