PLOT:
Superman of Earth-31 begins to try and unite the heroes to face off against Monarch but is unable to put aside his differences with the communist Superman of Earth-30 (Red Son
Superman). When the heroes are interrupted by the returning Monarch, Superman demands to know what became of the
Batman left living at the end of the battle. Monarch refuses to answer and immediately starts the battle between the Atoms.
Ray Palmer of Earth-6 convinces the Ray of the JLAxis that they should be able to breach the dome encasing the Arena by switching to a form of light outside the visible spectrum. Monarch is awaiting the
Nazi on the other side and vaporizes him immediately. Ray Palmer then shrinks down to microscopic size and knocks out Apollo of Earth-50 to win the battle. Next up is the battle of the Blue Beetles.
Blue Beetle of Earth-33 claims to have been building a device that could help them all escape but was unable to finish before being teleported into the arena. The scarab originally bonded with the Blue Beetle of Earth-39 deserts its host, Danny and joins its
hive mates that make up the Blue Beetle of Earth-21. The scarabs devour Danny leaving the remaining two Blue Beetles to square off. Earth-21's Blue Beetle wins the battle when he pries open the mouth of the would be savior from Earth-33 and
sends a horde of scarabs down his opponent's gullet. The scarabs then explode forth out of the
scientist's body and make Earth-21's Blue Beetle the sole survivor.
Back in the waiting area, the heroes discover the vest like object that Earth-33's Blue Beetle was constructing. While the others are trying to decipher the purpose behind the strange vest, the Green Lanterns of Earth-32,12 and 5 try to formulate a plan. Monarch arrives to teleport the Lanterns to the arena and crushes the power conduit for the vest
that Blue Beetle made telling them that there is no escape for any of them.
After arriving in the arena the Lanterns of Earth's-12 and 5 combine their willpower to form a massive green cover over themselves in hopes that it will force Monarch to place himself in the arena if he wants to watch the action. Monarch of course shows up and easily breaks through the cover. As the other two Lanterns do battle with Monarch, the Lantern of Earth-32 disengages the safeties of his power ring and sets it to critical mass.
He flies up to Monarch and places his unstable ring directly in the face of the metal man. The ring explodes and blows free a portion of Monarch's containment armor unleashing a huge blast of energy.
When the dust settles there is at least one surviving Green Lantern (Earth-12). Monarch sends the other two back to his ship.
Monarch's soldiers are there waiting for them. They decide to throw the dead Lantern into the bleed along with the Batman who died at the hands of the vampire Batman in the last battle. Unfortunately for them it turns out that Batman wasn't as dead as he seemed... at least not anymore.
