Here is my idea:
Instead of a Superman show following The Batman, why not SUPERMAN/BATMAN.
Now, I would guess and say that maybe a 2-part (3 doesn't seem to be what the crew of TB wants since TB has had 2 2part episodes) story of how Superman and Batman met would be nice to start the show on.
Plus, this would be a good idea to NOT do a similar take Timm did with a Superman show following a Batman show. And this show would be on WB's two most prized franchises that are making a comeback: Batman Begins & Superman Returns.
This is how the show would go: it would be exactly like the comic series of the same name started by Jeph Loeb. Just like that comic; the show would focus on Superman and Batman and adventures that tie them together. But it WOULDN'T be about those two, Wonder Woman appears, The Flash appears, so does Green Lanterns. The enite JLA, JSA, Outsiders and Teen Titans appear as well and either interact with them, or each other. Or be part of the storyline.
And that comic, and this show, will double for Supergirl's origin and have episodes on Supergirl and on other World's Finest besides Superman and Batman like: Superboy & Robin, and Power Girl and Huntress.
The show would take place a few years down the line after The Batman ended. That would make sense with these teams and more superheroes appearing in this show. Since his statue appeared in Grundy's Night (Yes, it was there), Superman had already appeared by TB's time.
Now, that story on how they first met is up to them (the crew). Because again, its a few years after TB so anythign that could've happened already did. And maybe that has. Either way; here's a plotline of that:
Lex Luthor is looking at expanding his empire; with his first target being Gotham CIty's Wayne Enterprises. Bruce doesn't want to buy out his company, nor work in any way with Luthor because he knows him from Metropolis' papers.
It turns out he (as Batman) isn't investigating why Luthor wants Wayne's company, Superman is as well. While they don't get along on each question the others actions; they both have a common interest to stop Luthor and his new plans that invovle a new villian: Ra's Al Ghul.
The first episode(s), or opening, would show both Superman's and Batman's origins back to back. Exactly like its shown int he first pages of Superman/Batman #1. After the story of how they met (again, up to them), then I would want them to do a adapation of the arcs of the comic. Since the comic itself is ending its current arc this month; they have four now and 2 going on 3 stand alone stories. By the time they manage to do this, 1-2 more arcs would be either completed or about to be and a new one would then begin.
So they have enough stories from that comic to do adapations and exhance the scripts for episode length.
So: a SUPERMAN/BATMAN show following THE BATMAN. Exactly like the comic from its stories, to having more heroes not just those two, and to the fact that theres more World's Finestes.
What do you think?
Jeff Matsuda; if you haven't seen this: WHY HAVEN'T YOU! This is good.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

there shud be a green lantern show.
with hal jordan, guy gardner, john stewart, and kyle rayner. and with the whole hal jordan killing evryonw wud be cool too, lol. hmm off topic.
a batman/superman show with guest stars for every episode wud be freaking fantastic. i wud love it soooo much. but i really doubt that it wud happen. unless Nate somehow finds a way to talk to the team.

Sounds like a cool idea, maybe Batman's costume could be a little different in it than in The Batman, like just the bat on his chest instead of the yellow oval. I think the show could work, but I don't know how WB would feel about it, they may think it's too much like Justice League and JLU.
For a show based on one character alone, I'd like to see a Wonder Woman show, maybe tell her origin, like start from the beginning. I also think it would be nice to see a Green Arrow show, because he's cool.

That'd be cool. I especially like the idea of Supergirl's origin being a story arc. I like the idea of Batman/Superman being the focus, but allowing for other DC characters to show up.
Although in order for this to work then DC needs to fix their characters licensing issues. Especially now that there's more shows and movies coming out soon.
I'd also like ot see a Green Arrow show, he doesn't get enough attention if you ask me.
The next DC animated show is the Legion show with Superboy, sigh.......hopefully it will be good because the Legoin bores me to death and Superboy can be annoying at times.
I'd much prefer a Superman/Batman show then the Legion show.

As cool as the "Superman/Batman" comic is, I kinda prefer the two characters staying out of each other's universes. Batman lives in a real world where Superman exists in a place where aliens and superpowers are a reality. I've never been a fan of seeing the two mixed together. I've always felt it takes away what makes Batman special. |

I'd have to disagree. I would love to see Bats mix it up with supes and see them work together. About the superpowers stuff, take a look at JLU. If you like that with bats then im sure it would be fine with just him and superman.

but dont u think batman gets bored? batman is probably the most unrealistic non powered superhero ever. hes the fastest, most agile, strongest, smartest, most clever, and more. jeez..u CANT beat that, lol. i dont care how realistic he is, no human can ever reach that point. i think batman needs his fair share of aliens to fight just for fun. i mean...in batman's mind, hes thinking, "humans...pff..too easy. where my extra terrestrial foes??"

I don't remember the old interview I meant, but one of the recent Comicscontinuum updates mentioned that Superboy is going to be in Legion of Super Heroes. Apparently the first episode is gonna explain how he goes to the future to join them.
I don't want Supergirl hanging with the boring old Legion anyway, she's too cool for that bunch of losers (end that comic series now!!!!)

Did you actually say that Batman needs his fair share of aliens to fight???
There's nothing I'd rather see less. Batman has no place in that world. He's a crime fighter, not a cosmic warrior. It's absurd to put him in those situations.
And as for him in JLU, I hate it. The show is great because of the superheroics but Batman never feels right in that environment. Batman's greatest moments are when he's brooding over the death of his parents and taking that anger out on the criminal element of Gotham. |

I've never had a problem with Batman having a more "fantastic" universe - heck, he's been fighting Vampires since 1939.
I think a more appropriate way to talk about the differences between Superman & Batman is that Superman fights with his heart and Batman fights with his head. As long as that tenet is held, the stories can grow and evolve into space adventures and other weird stories but still ring true.
I actually like the way it's often handled in the animated series and in the comics (particularly some of the older LotDK stories): these alien/magical/sci-fi events don't fit with Batman's world view, but he must learn to cope with them and find a rational way to defeat his foe...simply saying "it's not real" won't work. |
