I have heard rumors that the fourth season of The Batman is going to be the final?
Is this true? Because I thought i read they were already on season 5? someone please clearify this....

Where did you hear that? on wont even think about with something somewhat stable
on jeff matsuda's website, it said they were workingon S5, thats pretty stable for me, so im gonna believe they ARE workin on S5 |

This is one of the mysteries surrounding TB.
First off, shows nowadays seem to go up to five seasons then its done. Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, as one show, has five seasons. The Batman is of course on its fourth season so its most likely gonna get another one.
Now, the reason why I say the idea of a season five being in production right now is a mystery is because of the two answers to the question "Is there gonna be a season five?". On Jeff Matsuda's website, he does state that seaosn five is in production. However, at the TB panel at Comic Con, the same question was asked and the producers' response was "let's hope". As in: we and they aren't sure.
Now, what the producers said is most likely a joke as Jeff Matsuda wouldn't say there is a next season if it wasn't true. But, it maybe is true and Matsuda forgot to update. I don't know. I believe the first part is true.
Since most, if not all animated shows, have the total of five seasons, TB is most likely gonna get the same. Either way, new season announcments don't happen until early of the same year as the new season. So next year (2007), we'll get some news.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

Most likely, with Robin coming on board, yes, there will be a Season 5.. at least. We can hope for more, but it all depends on how the ratings are going at the end of the season.

It?s not the number of Seasons, it?s the number of Shows that is important. There is a certain number of shows needed for syndication. Once past that number (forgive me for not recalling it) the show can end and live on in syndication.
That?s what happened with Justice League, Justice League Unlimited. Combined they had enough so it ended. I think the number comes in around Season 4, but maybe it?s season five. We?ll see soon enough.

At the end of season 3, the show has 39 episodes. By the end of season 4, the number will be 52. Thats the number you were referring to. (hey, that rhymed) Now with a season 5, the number of episodes will go up to the total of 65 (same number as Teen Titans).
But yeah as what beyond said, it also depends on ratings. Since there has been nothing bad or concern or hell even tiredsome remarks from the crew themselves, I strongly believe we will get a season 5. Or maybe there is one, judging by Matsuda's words at his site.

Every show has to end at episode 52, thats what happened to almost all shows, but if the ratings are good enough, they'll extend the show like teen titans |

i want some tim drake action before it ends. possibly ANOTHER future episode or something? lol. or maybe after the 5th season(if there is), there will be a revamped version of TB. heres a thought...The Dark Knight instead of The Batman. haha maybe. i can only imagine...

I hope it does, but it would be even nicer if i had seen the second freaking season already lol teletoon just shows the first season over and over

I would think it would be based on the popularity of the show. If all these new additions goes over well...we should see more seasons.
