Okay...that's fine, I suppose. Why not?

Hah hah.

I'm kind of hoping that WB will suprise us with a whole new look, that's not too much, but different enough to keep it interesting.

In keeping with the established motif for the series, the new Robin will likely be very similar to traditional Robins. Matsuda's influence seems to come heavily from the 1960s series. Batman and Batgirl are very traditional looking. He's used a lot of creative liberty on the villains but the heroes have stayed pretty true to their roots.

Yeah, they're not straying too much from traditional styles.

I agree. Green underwear is a little dated and impractical. I'm sure he'll have pants to avoid the "Batman's running around w/ a half-naked boy" bit.

A bit? To be honest, I think pretty much every costume in the Batman mythos is outdated, and I've thought so for a good long while now. The new Robin suit in the comics is a step in the right direction. I wish they'd give Batman an all-black costume though. I don't think it would be boring looking as long as it is given proper shading. It doesn't even have to be a really black black, it can be just really dark gray. Phil's drawn some pretty good pics of what TB would look like with an all-black suit.

I agree that the black suit is perfect for the character and it likely will be that way for the forseeable future in the films. But the comics, DC has stated many times before that the black suit doesn't work for the coloring format and that it's much easier to sell product with additional color. That's why they added the yellow oval to the logo. They've since removed it but I'm sure it will come back at some point.

He looks fine wearing black and grey, I hope to the heavens they don't change him in the comics or cartoons, or anything for that matter.
