Wonder Woman
Gotham Knights
Gotham Central
Batgirl (rumored)
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

Well then, whats the point behidn cancelling Wonder Woman? Or are they not and doing what they did for Superman back in 1986.
Because here's my points on the three tasks that may or may not happen, and their results if one did happen. I also ranked them.
1) Ending the title, beginning a new one:
Now I see this as what DC should do or what they maybe are doing. Like Detective Comics now as Batman: Detective Comics. Basically its the actual Wonder Woman that was made in '87, it just has a new title. This is better since it doesn't ruin or retell or destroy the great sdtroies of her and besides the title, nothign is changed.
2) Complete reboot:
In 1986, Superman was rebooted in the series that is still looked on today as THE MAN OF STEEL. Superman was changed from being completely god like and being hard to believe of Superman the man, Clark Kent the disguise. Now he was depowered and that resulted in more better stories. And the Clar/Supes idea was chnaged to be more realistic and that lead for the better as Lois and Clark got married.
For Wonder Woman, this can't happen. Why? The stories that was written that began when she was rebooted in 1987 has been seen AS Wonder Woman. We're more in common with today's Wonder Woman than her even in Pre-Crisis or the Golden/Silver Ages.
It can be argued that Wonder Woman being restarted is no different than the restart of the Batman movie series. But that doesn't count since the B/S Batman films weren't THE Batman, and Nolan delivered to us who Batman was.
3) Reboot starting with retelling recent stories:
This method was used for Batman after Crisis of Infinite Earths. The first Post-Crisis story after Batman: Year One was the retelling of Jason Todd's origin because he was a rehash of Dick Grayson with a new name. And it seem to work out for the better.
Now this can't be done for Wonder Woman. Why? Well the most recent or still recent stories are fantastic, even by Rucka. The idea of retellign those stories or rehashing them in a different take would eb like DC liking Rucka's stroies, then messing with him down the road. I can't believe this is DC's plan.
Hopefully someone at DC Comics sees this and if they did decide to completely reboot Wonder Woman, maybe they could change her mind.
Watch the Language there, Nate.

Once again, please, where's your source?
First, I can see them doing a WW vol.3
Gotham Knights I can see go.
Batgirl.. maybe if they have her grow up.
Gotham Central? It's been one of the best bat books. They would be stupid.

i hope all this is rumor, however at my local shop the ouner was also saying he heard that one of the bat titles is going to be cancelled. if this is true i hope it's not Gotham Knights, imo this is the best bat title out right now and has been for afew years.
personally it wouldnt bother me if they streamlined the batfamily titles. too many. not every character needs their own title. now, if the rumor that i heard is true, it may be Nightwing that gets the axe, since Dick wont be around as Nightwing anymore.

I've seen several rumors around too. Some links were posted, but by the time that I clicked them nothing was there. Why? DC does not allow sites to post solicitations before a time that they designate.
I will go through this afternoon and post all of the major DC solicitations, and we can see, but we need to emphasize that this is as yet SPECULATION.

The February DC solicitations have been released, and Nate correctly reported the confirmed titles that are ending:
GOTHAM CENTRAL #40

Written by Greg Rucka; Art by Kano and Stefano Gaudiano; Cover by Sean Phillips
Gotham's police squad has been forever altered, and before all is said and done, another officer will be gone. The detectives of the MCU look to close perhaps their most important case, while Montoya's downward spiral reaches a dangerous conclusion that could shatter her life. Final issue.
Batman | 32pg. | Color | $2.50 US
On Sale February 1, 2006
BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS #74

Written by A.J. Lieberman; Art by Diego Olmos and Bit; Cover by Claudio Castellini
Batman must deal with Hush, the Joker, and their private war! But these two villains are forcing Batman to reexamine the rules he's lived by his entire life, and the only way to stop the mayhem may be to break one of those sacred tenets. Final issue.
Batman | 32pg. | Color | $2.50 US
On Sale February 15, 2006
WONDER WOMAN #226

Written by Greg Rucka ; Art by Cliff Richards and Ray Snyder ; Cover by J.G. Jones
Astonishing final issue! With the universe in turmoil, Diana prepares to face her ultimate challenge. Looking back on her relationship with Superman from the way it began to its recent turmoil, will she find a way to rebuild what she's lost? Final issue.
DC Universe | 32pg. | Color | $2.50 US
On Sale February 22, 2006
Wonder Woman will undoubtedly be back for a third volume of her title. I would assume that we will be getting a new ongoing Batman title. Of course they may decide to use the 3 title format that the Superman titles have been using. It is too bad to see Gotham Central go, but I would guess that the sales have not exactly been stellar, and the story have begun to get a little stagnant. I really thouht that they would be announcing more cancellations. I would hardly call this drastic or revolutionary.

Gotham Central is being renamed. As I heard from people. Umm, will the Wonder Woman stories be ignored?

My understanding is that they are not changing continuity that much. The interviews keep saying that they are not doing another big sweeping rebooting Crisis. Of course, most of the stories have really pointed that way.

There are always 52 weeks, if that is what you are asking. I don't think I saw any news of a change in the way the calendar works. Sure the Julian Calendar is a bit off but it gets fixed pretty easily on a leap year.
Seriously though, I am completely confused by what you mean. Yes they are bumping every title ahead 1 year (52 weeks) comic book time between issues 6 and 7 (I think, could be 5 and 6) of Infinite Crisis. Then the tentatively titled 52 series (which will probably end up using that name since that is what it is called by so many people) will chronicle how things arrived at the state that they are in at the year later point.
52 will not have some kind of mystical power over the Crisis, it is just a way for comic creators to work themselves to death.
It is really wierd how they are expecting us to buy a series talking about events that we already know how things come out in the end. It is like making a prequel trilogy to a trilogy of movies. Wait a minute, that has been done before too.

Yeah, you can be sure that Wonder Woman's not having a big reboot like Superman did in the '80s, because they are simply not doing a reboot with the DCU right now. Infinite Crisis is maintaining current contunuity. Destroying some alternate universes may ravamp characters, but jumping the story ahead one year doesn't.
It is strange that they'd discontinue her series, but I'm if/when it starts back up it'll have a fresh new story to work off of, but not a new character. Only thing I can think for why they did it is bad sales, which could be why they did stupid things like put a big chunk of the popular OMAC story in it.

Don't worry it isn't being cancelled for good. It is being cancelled for evil.
I just had a thought that there may not be a Wonder Woman or a Themyscira after all of this is over. Currently Diana is the ambassador of the Amazons, but if you saw the ending of Infinite Crisis #2 you know that things don't look so good for them. We could be looking at an unannounced renamed title. No, that is a little too much in left field. Sounded a lot better in my head.
