Outsiders penciler Matthew Clark suffered a minor heart attack Tuesday evening in his hometown of Portland, OR. He was hospitalized for three days, and came home earlier today.
The artist was at Greg Rucka?s home, visiting, when the chest pain he?d been noticing for a handful of days became acute, and Rucka called 911.
?I rode with him to the hospital, and he was treated throughout the night. They weren?t sure what his situation was ? he was diagnosed as diabetic, and diagnosed as having had a heart attack,? Rucka said. They did an angiogram on Wednesday morning, and put in two stents, and he?s back home now. He went home this morning.?
As to his current condition, Rucka said that Clark?s bounced back, and is on light duty for the next few days. ?But still ? he?s 35 and has had a heart attack,? Rucka said. ?So he?s taking it from there. His spirits are good. He went though something pretty traumatic and pretty trying, and pulled through it really well. The doctors are expecting him to recover as fully as he can from it.?
We wish Matthew a speedy recovery
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.
(crack!)
And I'm the surgeon.
