Didio said not to get too attached to the first Flash we see in the book... and lo and behold, it's Jay Garrick! Christ on a cracker, they had better not kill Jay Garrick. About all we have left of the old guard are Jay (the Flash), Ted Grant (Wildcat), and Alan Scott(Green Lantern). There's rumblings in JSA that Alan might retire. they can't get rid of all those guys.
Most of the Brave New World previews look good. I can't wait for Captain Marvel and Freedom Fighters. I'm not crazy about the Atom's new costume-- it's okay, apart from the gold parts-- but Gail Simone has yet to let me down, so I'll give it a shot. Byrne is very spotty in the quality department these days, but the page shown here looks pretty good. Creepr and Freedom Fighters look cool, too. I love the new look for the Human Bomb.
I'm wary of Martian Mahunter and OMAC. Lieberman was very hit-or-miss on Gotham Knights, so it could go either way. The art will be nice, anyway. Bruce Jones hasn't wowed me with anything he's done-- in fact, he just really got under my skin with his absolutely horrible debut issue of Nightwing-- so his involvement with OMAC is sending up a big red flag. The art looks great, though. I'll probably give the first couple of issues a shot.
I'm most interested to see how the Monitor returns in BNW. That is definitely one character I thought I'd never see again.
