Someone's going to bite your head off for that...

But I do agree that DC is better. Instead of just setting their characters in the real world and dealing with matters that have as much social context as a cheese sandwich like Marvel do, DC sets its stories in a fantastic world of fantasy that uses metaphors that reflect real-life matters.

First time I've heard someone say that Marvel is the unrealistic one.

Anywho, I prefer DC. I prefer the characters, I prefer the stories, and I prefer the somewhat more fantastical world that the DC characters inhabit. Yeah its not always totally realistic, but these are SUPER heroes, I want them to have a little extra fantasy edge to them.

Xmen, occaisonally Spiderman, and Daredevil are the only Marvel titles I really care much about.

Heroes from DC I like:
Batman
Superman
Wonder Woman
Green Arrow
The Flash

Heroes from Marvel I like:
Spider-man
Captain America
The Hulk
Ironman

I prefer DC. I would think since we're on a Batman site most people here are going to say DC.

I?ve always liked DC better for some reason. Spider-man and Punisher are interesting enough for me, but Batman has always been a favorite of mine.

I never much cared for Mutants or even Aliens like X-Men. Not to say they are not great, just not what I liked.

A big reason for why I stay strict to DC is because I just don't want to be keeping track of (and buying) tons of different issues in different universes. I like the fact that Batman, Superman and a bunch of other great characters are all in the same realm and I can pick up crossover issues once in a while. And I just like being loyal I guess.

I grew up enjoying Marvel action figures and cartoons, but got very few comics, and I think it'll stay that way. Marvel seems to do things in a strange way anyway. There's a crapload of alternate realities of the X-Men that are mentioned in their Ultimate Guide. I don't get why they're all so important to be mentioned and it just bugs me a little. And of course there's a million off-branched X teams.

i think this is also the first time ive ever heard soneone say Marvel is unrealistsic, since Marvel was the company that based most of their characters on science. Thats why i have always been a DC fan. I love the superheros. I dont care how Superman flies, its fantasy. If i wanted realism i would simply watch the news or sit on a bench in the city. I also think DC has more colorful characters, more "fun" characters.

marvel stories always end up in space or time travel.

is this true or not? thats the reason why i dont like marvel...and if its not true, then maybe i shud start reading marvel stuff. haha, but i like daredevil. hes pretty cool. same with spiderman, but i hate the fact that mary jane dies. RAWRR!!! what a sucky death. if i was spiderman, id probably turn into a badguy.

Where did you hear Mary Jane dies? Well, no worrys, she's alive man. You may be thinking about the cartoon show where she got trapped in another dimension, and someone made a clone of her.

I think that they did kill her in the comics, but she got better. So many weird things have happened in some of the Marvel things I can't keep up anymore. The only Marvel title I buy is Ultimate X-Men because it doesn't have the baggage that the main universe title has. I can keep up with it and stay in a low comic budget.

I prefer DC because those are the characters I was really in to as a kid. Sure I had a Spider-man figure and stuff, but the Batman and Superman stuff was so much cooler.

Yeah, I heard they thought she was dead but she returned, left Peter, and came back to him later.

I hear ya'. So much stuff goes on with Marvel, it's crazy.

I love DC, afterall it's Wonder Woman's and Lois Lane's home, but Marvel is my number one. I agree with Crisis, Marvel is easier to follow (for me at least) and I find their stories to be more realistic. The X-Men are possible (not exactly as they are) in reality, just as possible as time travel (which is very possible if we ever figure out a way to think outside of the box). I absolutly adore any X-men titles that have anyone from the Summers/Grey/Frost family in 'em and Spider-man rocks as long as the writer doesn't ignore the character growth aspect.

DC has recently regained my interest these past few years with Teen Titans vol. 3 and Greg Rucka's run on WW and the Superman comic he worked on (can't remember which one it was).

Lois: What the hell am I doing in a dress, and what the hell am I doing at your Prom?
Clark: [ Realizing. ] Oh, no.
Lois: Did you pin that on me?
Clark: I'll explain later, Lois.
Lois: A little close to the boob, don't you think?
