Ennis wrote Batman in the first issue of his DC series Hitman back in the '90s. Batman tracks him down because he doesn't want another superpowered killer in Gotham. Hitman actually tries to fight him, and Batman beats the hell out of him and slugs him in the stomach so hard he vomits on Batman's boots. big grin

Garth Ennis; hhhmmm..........

I've read some of his Judge Dredd stuff (I haven't a clue which ones - I got them from the library) and I thought they were good (Dredd isn't my favourite thing in the whole world, but occasionally I fancy reading some). A friend of mine is a big Judge Dredd fan, and I know he rates him very highly.

More recently; I was really into his 5 parter Battler Britton (although I wasn't thrilled by the ending). WWII and it's history is a big interest of mine so that could've swayed me. I've read old time BB stuff and he captures it's original spirit very well.

I've also picked up the 1st 3 issues of Wildstorm's The Boys - I thought it was desperate. It actually started well (and by that I mean the first few pages only) but then just seemed to go stupid. It's described as being for "mature" readers. On the contrary; bloody immature if you ask me (female superhero wannabe joins earths saviours looking down from their watchtower - but when she arrives, in order to join in with The Boys, first she needs to get down and be a bad girl on a sort of superhero casting couch - do me a favour!)

I personally don't really know what to make of him!
