I'm not really a car person, but I'm surprised this seems to worth this much (albeit direct from Jonathan Kent himself). It's not even from the actual TV series!
I don't know how to do those snazzy "click here" links where you say something snappy - so here's the full address;

Well.. first.. The 69 Charger is one of the most sought after cars around. There was only so many of them, and the TV series wreck over 300 of em! with the car being almost 40 years old.. yea.. thats one reason it's so high.
Second.. the car is owned by John Schneider, I believe the top of it says "Bo's General Lee" Unless he has two of em.. But, with the motor being atuographed by the cast members, and with so many awards..
Third.. And this is a guess.. Although he is no longer Pa Kent, he doesn't need the money..John puts up alot of actions for Charity. So most the money will more than likley go to that.
Man.. I want one of those cars..LOL...

I was a little surprised to see it go so high so quickly myself. Just imagine what this means if the TV Batmobile ever does go up on the block.
I think more has to do with the pop culture behind the show than the Charger itself, though. Although getting rarer, you can still snag a near-complete unrestored '69 R/T for under $25,000 and a restored for ~$50,000-$75,000. Compare that to a '70 Challenger (one of the most desirable Mopars ever, most recently seen in Grindhouse and the TV series Drive), where prices usually seem to run in the $50,000-$100,000 range.

So if a mint one was £75k, why would this one be so much?? I know what you mean about being owned by John Schneider Beyond, and given the obvious links that'll count for a bit, but he's not Elvis.....
I'll tell you what, I hope he doesnt end up with a non-paying bidder! Can you imagine the final value fee!

Lets look at it this way.. A rare Batman Figure, the figure it self might cost 20 bucks. BUT, it's autographed by the 4 hoursemen and is lets say 10 years old.
The Value has gone up because it's rare.. add to the fact the age, and then add to the fact that signed.
so yes, I agree that it is WAY more expensive that it should be.. but, alot of collectors out there will pay it.

I'll pass. I'd rather have a 1969 Ford Thunderbird myself!

Ok Chris, I was just going to whack a bid in (seeing as it's your birthday and all that), but it's gone up a touch overnight, and it's now out of my price range!! Sorry mate. Happy birthday anyway!

From Ford's brief flirt with the 4-door T-Bird, eh? Novel, but I'd prefer a Buick GSX or Olds 442 if we're sticking with '69.

It’s insane and I bet the nearly 10 Million Dollar Bid is not real. I watch Barrett Jackson all the time, so I’ve seen car collectors do some wild stupid bidding. Here in Ft. Lauderdale a replica Batmobile made by Fiberglass Freaks in Indiana sold for $215,000.00 after a bidding war between two bidders. Later in England the Cars Of The Stars Museum replica Batmobile sold at auction for over $200,000 as well.
Funny thing is that Fiberglass Freak will build you a new turn key replica Batmobile for $95,000 and it will be more advanced that the #2 one that sold in Ft. Lauderdale. If I ever win the lottery I’m having Mark Racop build one for me.
As far as cars in general go. I’d say a 1969 Ford Boss Mustang would be the best. I know I should probably say a Shelby Mustang, but I did not like what Shelby did to the front of the Shelby Mustang in 1969.
1969 was a great year for cars. I like the ’69 Camaro too, although as I true blue Ford fan it’s tough to admit it. Like the Mustang and Charger the Camaro got bigger and uglier into the 70’s and 80’s.
Now everything is retro again and we have a new Mustang that’s been selling well for a few years and soon a new Camaro and Challenger all inspired by the cars of the past will be on the streets. Too bad Dodge made the new Charger a four door.

You said it
I had a '69 Bel Air 4-door sedan a few years back. Even that land yacht had its cool points...it seems like that was a year where every manufacturer was on a high note.

I'm going to have to stick some Dukes of Hazard on my Amazon rental list. I liked it as a kid, but haven't seen for years. I've never seen any of the more reason stuff.
So what's the car on the right Chris? |

The Dukes was and still is, a great family show, kinda corny at times, but hey, it was the late 70's early 80s!
My son and daughter loves the show.. I have all the season on DVD, the new movies aren't as family oriented though.
the car on the right is a 2006 Dodge Charger. I should have posted the link:

Yep, I've just had a look, seems like someone was playing wiith his Ebay account. I wonder if Ebay will refund the fee.
My mate at work sold a car on Ebay and the buyer never paid, they wouldnt give him the final value back!!
Oh dear........ |
