Adam Kubert will be providing the art for Action Comics. That book's writer is still not revealed.
I'm a bit disappointed, honestly. I love Joe Kubert's work, and I really like Adam's. Andy's has always rubbed me the wrong way, for some reason. He's obviously talented, but I don't care much for his style. As for Adam on Action, I hope he's been working all this time on getting as many issues in the can as possible before July, so we won't have to put up with constant delays and fill-ins.
Here's the news that excited me the most:
Morrison?s story will be a follow-up of sorts to the 1987 formerly quasi-continuity graphic novel Son of Batman, which saw Batman father a child with Talia, Ra? al Ghul?s daughter.
First of all, it involves my favorite villain, Ra's al Ghul. Second, it means that the awesome Son of the Demon graphic novel is not considered in continuity again. (During Denny O'Neil's reign, the story was considered an Elseworlds.) This makes me even more anxious to read Morrison's run!
They could get my sister to draw these and I would pick them up. The stories are going to be great. Adam's work on Ultimate X-Men is all that I am familiar with from the Kubert brothers.
The sketch on Newsarama is a little too Jim Lee-ish, but still looks like it should be pretty good. I like Lee, but I don't really like how it seems like most of the Batman artists are using his style. It doesn't help that my calendar at work is classic art.
Nice to see that they are putting some popular artists on the big titles. That should do some good to bump up sales.

Andy Kubert's art used to look very much like his father's, back in the '80s. By the time the '90s rolled around, he had further developed his own style. That's a good thing, but I just don't like his style much. I haven't read any Ultimate X-Men, but I have enjoyed Adam Kubert's art on other books, like his run on Incredible Hulk before the awful relaunch about 5 years ago.
This is the first time I've heard of Andy Kubert (hey, I'm not that old and I haven't been into comics very long), but he art looks great according to the picture. Looks like Batman has a bright future ahead of it. :rol:

Yeah, his name will help boost sales, not that the book needed it with Morrison aboard. He's definitely a talented artist, I just can't get into his style that much. He's done some work on Batman before. Right offhand, I know he did the original Batman vs. Predator series, which was a surprisingly good book. It's one of those really dumb-sounding concepts that, for whatever reason, worked out great.
