I don't know, the delays have been blamed on either Miller or Lee, depending on who you ask. DC themselves haven't placed the blame on anybody, so there's no way to know for sure. All I know is that, as soon as these latest delays were announced, I've dropped the book. These constant delays are too damned irritating. I'll just pick up the trade when it's eventually released. It'll be cheaper than buying the singles, too.

Let me tell you: I'm mad. Not on the idea of Miller delaying it which this doesn't feel like. Its not just that. Its the term "delaying" on their books, not just AS but others like move to another week or month, etc. I setup my money situation to buy comics for the week. My amount there is listed, I know how much to spend so I won't worry. But, when DC decides to delay certain books to, lets say, the next week or two. My plan gets shot.
Sure that week, by losing couple issues, gets the price lowered. But its raises the price of that week those book were added on. Now, somethign that would 12 dollars lets say, is now 15-17, to even 20 dollars.
I hate it when they delay. I wish they wouldn't delay. I know delaying AS 4-5 is for Miller to rewrite his story for the better. But if he keeps on doing this, then the time when Lee and Miller dont feel like working on it anymore will be quicker than when we thought it would be.
He should only delay once on one book, after that no more. DC should slam their foot down and say "we're releasing it, go on and improve your story beyond this issue(s)."
Why they haven't done that, I don't know. But thats why.

Miller delaying to book to "improve" his story is only a rumor. Considering how quikly Miller writes-- it's his art that takes a while, and he's not the artist on this book-- I seriously doubt it's his fault. Jim Lee's books are frequently delayed, so I figure it's more likely that he's the culprit. DC lets this slide because these guys' names on a book means money in the bank, even if it is late.
For a second there I thought you were going to say that the books weren't coming and it was going to be the fastest cancelled Bat-book in 67 years. This isn't all that surprising. This title has been delayed with every issue. Lee really needs to stick to one book and try to make that one come out on time. I bet that many fans are dropping stuff because of the delays.
Drunken Fist's idea to wait on the trade makes sense so you don't have to keep up with a story that is only released every 2 or 3 (or 4?) months.
