Some great stuff this week. Definitely worth a trip to the comic shop.

Batman #650

That is a really cool cover. The story of the return of Jason Todd is something that I figured would turn out to be horrible, but it has really kept me wanting more. I am really excited that the Batman Annual comes out next month to explain this whole thing. After last issue's cliffhanger, this issue should be pretty good. The Red Hood has forced Batman to make the choice between saving the Joker or going to Bludhaven to help Nightwing.

Journey Into Knight #7

It looks like there is a chance for Bruce Wayne to live a normal life until a new threat comes into his life. Who is this love that the solicits talk about? It almost looks like Vicki Vale.

Catwoman #52

Black Mask has gone too far for Catwoman. Now she is going to show him what a real force she can be. If you haven't been picking up these recent issues try to find them or plan on getting the trade. I got caught up a couple of weeks ago and found that they were some really great stories.

Green Lantern #9

The rematch that I have been waiting for since Hal Jordan sucker punched Batman in Green Lantern Rebirth. Also, Batman gets a power ring. Check out the variant cover it is really cool.

JLA CLassified #17

Part two of Gail Simone's story line. Look at the cover. Wonder Woman's uniform already did a lot of gravity defying, but this is beyond remote feasibility.

JLA: The Greatest Stories Ever Told

A collection of the key stories of the greatest superteam. Good for the new comic reader or the veteran who wants a nice package with some fun stories.

Legion of Superheroes #15

The Infinite Crisis hits the Legion as they become the greatest heroes of the Multiverse. Yeah, I don't get it either.

Solo #9

5 stories from the man who did Gotham County Line. County Line was a really fun horror-type story, so this should be entertaining to lovers of that genre.

Supergirl #5

Concluding Jeph Loeb's arc with the Girl of Steel. Supergirl faces Supergirl. Variant cover with both Ian Churchill and Michael Turner contributing to each cover.

Superman Chronicles, Vol 1

Reprinting the original appearances of the Man of Steel in a nice affordable chronological pacakge.

Superman: The Journey

Reprinting some issues of Superman Comics. I don't really think that it will be the ones listed in the solicitation because the creative teams did the comics 100 issues later than those listed. Someone screwed up at DC.com

Teen Titans Go #28

Beast Boy's old team, the Doom Patrol makes an appearance.

Vigilante #6

Vigilante's secret is finally revealed in the conclusion of this miniseries.

Warlord #1

The return of one of the longest running sword and sorcery characters. I had a couple of the toys when I was a kid. They looked a lot like knock off Master of the Universe. That's what they might have been though. I was 5; I didn't really care.

Wonder Woman #226

The Post Crisis Wonder Woman series comes to an end. Things look to really end well as Wonder Woman evaluates her relationship with Superman over the years, and wonders if things can ever be the same.

I really hope I can get my hands on Batman #650, sounds like it's going to be a great issue. Are they coming out with a paper back of all the last couple of issues from the series?

I want to start getting some of the recent issues from the Wonder Woman series. I need more cash.

I'm getting these.

Sorry to see WW end, as I've really enjoyed Rucka's run. I can't wait to read it, though. Smile

Nope, it's a new character that was introduced in the first issue of this series. It's actually been a fun book, although the art is beyond awful. This book feature one of the 2 worst depictions of Batman I've ever seen.

Yep, Catwoman has returned to greatness ever since Pfieffer took over. The art by Pete Woods has been fantastic, too. I've enjoyed his art since he was on Robin about 6 years ago. I'm missing a key issue, though. #49, I believe. The previous issue had an almost unbearable cliffhanger ending, and I was frothing at the mouth all month for the next issue. I couldn't see how she could get out of the situation she had put herself in. So naturally, the guy at the comic store doesn't pull the next issue, and I couldn't find one anywhere else. That's one reason I decided to start buying all my comics from an online shop.

You say that like it's a bad thing. wink

The Warlord character predates the entire MOTU concpet by several years, but the Warlord toys were indeed knockoffs of the MOTU line. The packages even boasted that the toys were compatible with the MOTU line. I had a bunch of them, too. Those toys, and much more recently, the JLU episode featuring the Warlord are about all the knowledge I have of the character. Still, I like the genre, and I've been wanting to read some of the Warlord comics for a while now, so I'm giving this one a shot.

The JLA Classified cover was definitely not a bad thing. Smile

I didn't get the Supergirl issue because my comic guy was shorted a box. If someone picks it up, throw up a short summary if you don't mind. I picked up Batman, Catwoman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman. The Wonder Woman issue was probably the weakest, but that doesn't mean that the issue was bad. Rucka does an excellent job of wrapping up the series.

Where do you order your comics from? I'm getting irritated at the poor selection around here. All of the local stores have apparently stopped carrying Catwoman, I've seen exactly one issue of Justice, Crisis was so hit or miss I didn't bother, and I'm still missing a couple of issues from Journey Into Knight because of the way things were stocked. Anyplace that does carry these titles haven't updated since December.mad

I hear ya, it's that way around here, too. I order from www.mailordercomics.com . Thay have great discounts-- everything is at least 35% off, often more. A lot of books are only 74 cents, after the discount. They package the stuff more securely than places like amazon, I've been getting comics from them since the first week of December and I have yet to recieve anything that was damaged. They ship my order on either Thursday or Friday, and I normally get it on the following Tuesday. Their customer service is quite possibly the best I've ever dealt with, they're very friendly and helpful. I got a box containing someone else's comics a month or so back, and they called to let me know before I had even recieved them. When they arrived the next day, I called to let them know. They arranged to have UPS stop by later that afternoon to pick them up, then overnighted tthe correct comics to me.

By now, I must sound like their paid spokesman. big grin Really, I've been very pleased with them, and can't recommend them highly enough.
