Judd Winnicks 3rd arc on the Batman title has recently concluded. about a year ago he first brought to our attn the possibility of jason todd returning, and in his 2nd arc "under tha hood" we found the probability of such a thing happening to be very likely. now in his latest arc "family reunion" it has been confirmed that the second robin is indeed back and back with a vengeance! lets hear your thoughts on whats happend and also what you think will happen next.
as for me, im thinking and somewhat hoping this will trace back to ra's al ghul and his lazarus pits which atcually was hinted at a lil bit during the second arc. im wondering if it might even have some connection to the "ra's al ghul: year one" 2-parter that has yet to conclude next week, which has nobody in gotham dying dude to the death of ra's. hey who knows maybe they'll bring talia and nyssa into the mix as the reason behind jay's return. we'll have to wait and see.

I'm usually like it when dead people come back in a not so conventional way (like Terra 2!)
But I wasn't a big fan of Jason Todd, the comics I read with him I wasn't a huge fan. I didn't mind him but he wasn't my favorite guy around. But if they manage to make it cool I could check it out.
If it is him, I wonder if he'll have a new mantle? Robin is currently Tim. |

but will he be back for good or for bad if for good that would suck but for bad then yeah that would rule batman would have already dealt with this jason todd stuff in hush and will be hesitant as to the truth

if he was good, i think that wud be pretty cool. jason was a cool robin. IMO. he was a street punk that became robin. thats like the tim drake story in TNBA..i think that kinda robin is awesome!

yeah but him being good would bring quite alot of weirdness between batman and jason. plus jason wasnt even a big character. alot of the batman fans that i know didnt even know who he was. he came and he died

Nah, I think Batman's gonna be after him. And having in mind that Batman's the better of the two, chances are he'll find a way to put Jason out of commission real quick-like. I have a feeling that this somewhat cheap gimmick could be pretty entertaining, but will only last so long.

There is supposed to be some connection between Todd's return and the Infinite Crisis (much like every other thing happening in DC Comics now). He has assumed the identity of the Red Hood (for those who don't know Joker was the Red Hood before his change). He is walking that hero villain line, he is willing to take a life, but is trying to stop crime. He has basically told Batman to stay out of his way.
The Ra's al Ghul two parter ended last week. Pretty cool art, decent story. I thought that these were supposed to be early (Year One) stories, but Ra's is dead setting it in current time.
The only thing that really mattered that happened was
SPOILERS AHEAD
Batman created a Lazarus Pit in the Batcave to balance out whatever was causing people to not die. Whether this will be carried over to the comics or not is up in the air. I doubt that it will because of the format of these stories.

awesome! jason is like...good and bad at the same time..so hes stopping crime, but actually killing them? batman wud be like:no:

And I'm sure since he doesn't mind killing, chances will be that he never meets up with Black Mask or any other major character, just nameless thugs. :lol:

well it looks liek we'll all be speculating for a while since the series was put on pause for the croc story last month and this month it'll be on a break. theyre going to resume this storyline in the september issue. it seems theyre really gonna drag out the in depth details. meanwhile as Darknight stated this is indeed going to be tied into infinite crisis, as the issue in october is even labeled as such.
as for my theory of there being some connection with the ra's al ghul yeear one, well no dice lol. but it was nice to see themmfinally address ra's after they actually killed him off i thnk about a year ago. now heres hoping they dont take another year to involve nyssa and talia.
anyhoo, from the looks of things, todd is here to stay ...at least for quite a while. i think theyre going to have him play the gray area character who constantly shows up and throws everyone's game off. we have seen him interact with top tier guys already liek black mask, albeit via phone convo, but i think that pretty much tells us hes set to be a major player. i think the real question is how long before something else happens to him? he cant just keep popping up messing up batman's and the villian's plans at somepoint something has to happen to move thigns forward. and while were at it, theres gotta be something to follow up whats happ with the joker.
ideally it give us alot to look forward to as we wait for them to tie up loose ends. however, it seems like its all gonna be taken care of at a rather slow pace.

Sorry BDG, I haven't had time to respond. Things got wierd. You should have a response soonish.
I read on another board that Nyssa is to appear in Batgirl sometime. I don't know what connection it has to anything because I don't pick that book up, but I know that the current story is that she is looking for her mother.
Nyssa isn't supposed to be able to have children because of something that happened in the Jewish Holocaust during World War II according to the Death and the Maidens story. Migh tbe worth picking up.
