For anyone who collects or runs model trains, there's a new Batman-themed HO-scale set available:

I don't know if Hawthorne Village sells through any retailers or not, I went to the URL on the page and there were no Batmna items listed...it could be a preorder, and new enough that they don't have it listed yet.
According to the writeup:
Begin your illuminated HO scale train set with "The Batman" Diesel Locomotive. You will be billed the first of three easy payments of $23.31 for the Diesel Locomotive before it is sent. Soon, you can look forward to adding coordinating The Batman Express passenger cars billed seperately each at the same attractive price and sent about one every other month-including the FREE Batman figurine, tracks and power-pack! You can cancel at any time simply by notifying us.
In other words, it's pretty light on specifics at this point. They don't mention how many cars will complete the train, and the pricing is a bit vague ($69.93 for the loco, but the cars are "the same attractive price." As what? Each other? The loco? $70 is pretty high for a passenger car, so maybe they mean $23.31 per car). I'm still trying to find out more, and I'll post anything I find.
Here is a closeup of the order blank, sized to print & mail off if anyone is interested:

These guys produce the same train in special colors all the time. I?ve seen offers for trains for sports teams like the Miami Dolphins before. As far as I can tell it?s two engines and one car and small set of track for a huge amount of money.
HO scale is 1:72 and Hot Wheels are 1:64 so the many Batmobiles and Batman Themed cars they have produced could make one nice Gotham City.
Looks cool, but I think I will pass.

I thought it was actually "The Batman", but it's really comic styled, which I like better. I do like those graphics, but most likely I'll skip on this.
I hate toy companies that rerelease the same old thing with new paint jobs. I would never buy from one. ....Wait a sec...

I've been considering building an HO-scale layout for a while, but that's going to be a way off. When I do, I'd like to make it kind of a combination of the comics & movies.
HO is actually a little bit smaller, 1:87 scale (1:72 is a frequent aircraft & military scale). Still, a lot of Hot Wheels & Matchbox cars work perfectly, especially the trucks. |

You're right. I had HO trains when I was younger. I always thought it was 1:72. I did use my Hot Wheels for cars for the town though

It's Mail Order and maybe you can still find it. I saw this offer some time ago.

I'm pretty sure it's still available. Let me check my catalogs, and I'll re-post with what I find.
