TRU surprised me by having a fair amount of TDK stuff, including the Movie Mastrers set. I picked up Batman and the Joker-- they were $9.99 each-- and will not be wasting my money on any of the rather crappy basic figures. I do plan to pick up a few of the MM Gotham City thug figures so the Joker will have a gang, though.

I did buy the 5 inch versions and do say
that they appeal to me more...
The Joker of the Master set looked creepy...
The Batman looked the same as the 5 inch..
The Thugs were ok, but did not appeal to me...
I'll just wait for the Masters to show up at
at the Thrift this year and buy them for
$1.00 like the Batman Begins figures...
I really want that Bat Tumbler with the Bat-Pod...
Also there is another Hot Wheels 1/64 Tumbler coming
out in a two pack...
This is under the name of Duo Action sets...
Till next time...

Look here:

You'll see the 2-pack .. it's with Harvey Dent's car. Above it is the Bat-Pod with the Joker's Van.

Well, yeah; if you're gonna make a creepy character into a figure you're gonna come out with a creepy figure.
As for that Joker van, I guess the actual Joker-mobile from the movie would be to big? Or do they not want kids reading the word "SLAUGHTER?"

see, guys? i think the joker figure hysteria will be short lived. i think everyone who wants one will get one. no way will this be like that tickle-me elmo debacle back in the late 90s. i worked at a kb toys back then, and let me tell you... NUTS.
on the 3 pack... the new scarecrow looks RAD! i wonder if that how he'll be in series 2 of the movie masters, or if this is a variant. bats and mr j look the same. kinda curious what "crime scene evidence" accessory crane will come with.
PS: hi, i'm a long time lurker, newly registered.

Well,
I got one of each of the Jokers (heah, I am a "fan" of the character and interested in the many incarnations, esp. post "Batman" (1989) versions) on the way to Atlanta.
I am happy.
It is interesting the different styles and how the 2 figure incarnations from TDK compare and contrast. I couldn't decide my favorite, so I bought both.
MAYBE, I can find the 1/50 Batmobiles on my way home tonight or tomorrow morning . . .
(MAYBE)
Sum Nox!

im a huge joker fan too. i got the destructo-case one, and i plan to get the bazooka one (particularly since its based on that awesome shot we saw in the trailer)... still got a day or 2 til my movie master figure arrives though. i'm telling myself that it's going to come with the best face paint job ever, and not with weird maladjusted lines on his face.
ok, it's best not to think of it. *waits patiently* |

What's wrong with the lines on his face? I think it gives the figure more character and much better attention to detail.
I stopped by Toys R' Us last night and they had a LOT of the Collector's Edition Batmobile from Batman Begins. It was the Tumbler in camouflage and another Tumbler in all black. For $10, I thought it wasn't bad but I might return it since I already had one.
The only thing stopping you from success is doubt. |

i didn't mean theres anything wrong with the figure's face... sometimes you just get a bum one, where the paint job is gimpy. i'm kinda particular about how figures look, and will try to grab what i think is the best looking one on the shelf. just hoping i get a good looking one of these heath jokers is all. haha sorry for the confusion.
the figure itself, from all the pics i've seen, looks amazing!

Scarecrow, ahhhhhh YEAH!!!!!!!
I like the Joker figure, my only issues are the giant crotch and the cuts along the lips, but I'm still gonna get one ASAP.
And I really wish they'd looked at a picture of Christian Bale and said, "wait a minute, he didn't have a chin transplant with Sylvester Stallone!"

Hi, first of all I'm a new member, but I' have been lurking for a while.
I always like Batman, but definetly, when I saw BB & his Tumbler, I got more fascinated. I only need 4 action figures to have BB toys complete.
Now I'm Starting TDK as well. Yesterday I had a long day, & wasting of time exept for one thing, I found two 12" of BTDK , its not the action cape one, its the set Masked & unmasked Batman for $30 at Toys R Us...
My frustration to find the Yoke: I have been told that the Joker get sold out the first night that they put in on Walmart...I have traveled to few even Toy r Us, So if you want save more than $20 on your car gas, get it on Ebay.
Check the news about this figure: Joker Figure
I saw the Four Pack, its not worth to pay $30 for it.
And these are my TDK Figures

The Joker figure definitely sells out soon after it hits the pegs. Secondary pricing has dropped, but as it sells out at retail I expect it will go up as we get closer to the film debut. Wal-Mart has had the best selection down here. TRU is the only other place I’ve seen them, but they have almost nothing by comparison. I turned to eBay for the Batman chase figure, but everything else I’ve found at retail.
Still no Batmobile or Tredator either. I still have not picked up the Shift Attack Sport Coupe although I may cave in and get it soon enough.

I think it depends on where yo yuare also. My Wal-Mart STILL does not have the 5.5 figures out. The only reason I can see is because The Batman figures are still hanging there, on clearance.

There are 4 different “Evidence Masks” with the Gotham City Thug. I’ve seen 3 of them at retail, but there are some on eBay. The one with the red rectangles painted over the eyes is the only one I have not seen. I don’t know which of the four is the most common or most rare. I think the one with the blue crosses over the eyes is the most common based on what I’ve seen, but I could be wrong. To me this is a missed opportunity by Mattel. They should have had the four different masks on the actual figure so collectors could make Joker’s gang. As it is the mask on the figure does not even match any of the four different versions of the Evidence Masks.
I personally don’t see why there are Evidence Bags with the Movie Masters figures to begin with. The figures should have come with weapons and other accessories. To not give a Batman figure even one Batarang is nonsense to me. At least The Joker does come with a small knife in his left hand.

i agree, they definitely couldve skipped the evidence bags and masks and just gone with accessories the figures can actually USE. batman needs a batarang or two... maybe a grapple gun. the thugs need machine guns and money bags or something. joker, though i like the card, couldve had an assortment of knives, the rpg launcher we saw in the trailer, etc...
i AM curious what theyre gonna include with scarecrow and the figures for the second wave... hope its not more "evidence".
on a related note, i came up with a dream list for the movie master series, should it continue in the future (be awesome, mattel):
going in reverse film order here...
tdk - two-face (with scarred coin and a gun)
joker (in the prison scene: no jacket and messed up face paint)
jim gordon (COME ON! not a single gordon figure from bb or tdk?)
bb - ra's al ghul
ducard
league of shadows ninja
b&r - poison ivy (hated the movie, would be a cool movie master figure though)
bf - riddler (again, hated the movie, would make a cool figure)
br - penguin (the kenner figure looked nothing like devito in the film)
catwoman
circus gang members
max shreck
batman 89 - joker (mime disguise w/ quill pen)
bob the goon
batman (also a keaton head chase figure)
i'm sure there's more they should do i'm not thinking of...
anyone else? |

Robin
Dick Grayson Flying Grayson outfit
Riddler
Two Face
Batman Returns
Batman
Catwoman
Catwoman “battle damaged” chase figure
Penguin
Batman
Batman
The Joker
The Joker in business suit and “flesh” painted face chase figure
Alfred
Batman The Movie
Batman “Adam West”
Robin “Burt Ward”
Joker “Ceasr Romero”
Riddler Frank Gorshin”
Penguin “Burgess Merideth”
Catwoman “Lee Meriweather”
Catwoman “Julie Newmar” chase figure

Weekly Friday rounds, 2 TRU, 1 Wal-Mart, 1 Target and Movie Master figures are gone! I saw one Batman at a TRU and another at Wal-Mart. Aside from that there were no Movie Master figures to be found.
Wal-Mart still has the best selection over Toys R Us. The Basic Figure Assortment is out in force. I did see the 12” Batman, but not the 12” Bruce as Batman. Also at TRU was the Movie Multi-Pack, but not many of them on the shelves.
Also gone are the 1:50 Batmobiles I saw last week at a Wal-Mart.
I know this is a TDK Thread, but DCU Wave 1 is still out at TRU and Target, but one TRU did have a few Wave 2 figures. I had picked up 2 other Wave 2 DCU figures at a Target last week, only Aquaman eludes me.
I expect to see more as we get closer to the film premiere.

We still have many of the 1:50 Bt-mobiles, thughs scatered among walmarts. but TRU lacks of them (movie masters), though there shall be a double pack of MM with the expensive joker but not accessories as the card. I have not seen yet any TDK at targets, but they are clearing other toys, perhaps then is TDK turn on their shelves, since Hulk, Iron Man, & Speed Racers are there.... If so, I will ask when they will relase these toys, so I will be there when the store open lol. |
