He's not $60. He retails for about $14. The figure replicates Miller's style very well, therefore I don't see many problems with it.

Yes, but it is fat and out of shape. Still a great line of figures from one of the best Batman books ever written.

The physique doesn't really make sense. Who becomes really short and stocky like that as they age, yet stays muscular? And he's not actually that short and thick through most of the illustrations. Look at the image of Robin hugging him while he stands there in his underwear bandaged up. He stands five feet taller than her like a friggin' redwood. She'd literally be up to his waist.

Batman's appearance changes over the course of the story to reflect the way the character himself has changed. The story is chock full of symbolism and allegory. The Dark Knight's evolving physical appearance is just another aspect of this. Anyway, that's a long-winded discussion all its own. As far as this figure is concerned, I think it's one of Dc Direct's best. the articulation is sparse, but that's business as usual as far as DCD is concerned. He's not fat, he's 300 pounds of solid muscle. It's an excellent sculpt, full of character.

Ah, I'll have to pay attention to that as I continue the story. I keep putting it off. Not because it's bad, I'm just lazy. Either way, the DCD figures do Miller's style justice. I'm happy with my DKR set.
So does he kill less cops by the end of the story? Wait... don't tell me.
Cool avatar and signature by the way.

That?s true, his form did evolve as he came out of retirement and became Batman again. Still the best part was the confrontation with Superman.
Superman was really the Boy Scout in this story. He was almost a puppet of the U.S. President. I really like the way Batman takes him down.
I didn?t really like the ending all that much. It was not bad, and in a way Batman Begins pays homage to it by ending in a similar manner, or should I say Wayne Manor
In any case this is still one of the best Batman stories I ever read and I like my set of figures a lot too.

Without spoiling too much of the story(SPOILER ALERT), yes, Superman and Batman did have a conflict.
Superman, ever the Boy Scout was the clean cut All American kind of hero. It seems that dark vigilantes are no longer in vogue an when Batman comes out of retirement and goes back to old school crime fighting in order to clean up Gotham, some people don?t like it.
So Superman is given orders by the President to take Batman down if he needs too. Of course Clark Kent goes to Bruce Wayne and tries to reason with him, but in the end you know Bruce won?t listen and it will come down to Batman vs. Superman.
Batman takes a pounding of course at the hands of the Man of Steel, but Batman always knows his opponents weakness and he uses it to his advantage.
The figures are great in this line. Considering that The Dark Knight Returns was such an important story, it?s odd the series of figures was so limited. I would have liked to see more figures in a second series like Selina Kyle in the Wonder Woman outfit or members of The Sons of the Batman, Batman and Robin on horses or Oliver with the Synthetic Kryptonite Arrow. There was a small PVC set of figurines released, but other than that I don't think any other figures from this story line were produced.

Thanks!
He doesn't actually kill any cops in DKR. He gets into a couple of fights with some, when the new commisioner issues a warrant for is arrest, but he doesn't seriously hurt any. He is forced to use a gun at one point, though. One of the most memorable moments in the story, for me anyway.
