I was thinking of this.
Terry was a genetic son or clone thigny of Bruce Wayne. Amanda Waller wanted to make Terry's life exactly like Bruce's (sorta) BUT after Andrea couldn't kill Terry's parents they stopped botheirng Terry didn't they?
SO was it fate that brought them together?
OR was it that Bruce already knew? When they went to the future, they met Static Terry and Warhawk, and Green Lantern and Bruce are the only ones who remember. Did he happen to forget that he has a new apprentice in the future?
So what do you think? Was it fate that brought Bruce and Terry together? Or did Bruce know from the beginning that he'd someday have a new Batman? |

i think he knew. but maybe not. i dont think he knew who was underneath the mask of batman(beyond) when they met each other with static warhawk, etc.
im thinking that its fate.

wow... i didn't know any of that stuff cuz i was never a big fan of the show, if bruce isnt the bat the bat isnt the bat period. so i never watched alot but enough to know what the shows about. like the episode where terry goes to see bane and he finds out that hes become like a veggie. but wow his son hm nice twist

I think the idea of the title was just to make it futuristic sounding, but when they wroet epilogue someone probably said,
"Let's call Amanda's project Batman Beyond!"
I think its a very cool twist. And it was a nice way to connect all the series together, fun stuff. I hope this isn't the last time we see Terry and the rest of the future crew, especially DeeDee and DeeDee.

yeah it'd be cool to see him make some cameos like in the 4 part series avenger and jla when all heroes are seeing like things in the future it'd be cool to see him appear in something like that

they should continue batman beyond. maybe with the older terry from "Epilogue"...the life of terry when hes older and realizes that hes the son of batman.::batmanbeyond::

The only problem I have with that idea is that Epilogue wa supposed to be sort of a series finale for Batman Beyond.
Maybe they could od like another season, but have the story arc sort of lead up to Epilogue?

I really don't think Bruce knows that Terry is his son. Waller did it all without his knowledge. And when Terry said "Yeah, just like my old man." He sorta said it real soft and out of Bruce's ear shot. My feeling or impressions is that Bruce doesn't know.
And if anyone was wondering....Matt is Bruce's son too. Bruce Timm posted that at TZ Forums the night it aired...also..Dwayne McDuffie posted the same thing at his forums as well.
As for the whole fate thing....probably..but the whole point of the ep is that what Waller did...doesn't mean anything except on a genetic level. Terry is his own man and it just brings the bond that Terry already has with Bruce closer for him. I think Terry feels like Bruce is sort of a father to him anyway...well the only kind of father Bruce can be..and after everything that happened with Dick and Tim...it gives Bruce a happy ending..knowing he's not alone at the end.
I absolutely LOVED this episode!

Terry probably knew that Bruce wouln't appreciate being someone's "Old Man" (not because of the "old" part, but because Bruce isn't great with familial affection), so he would've said it like that anyway. I think Terry was more or less thinking out loud there. |
