Brain Drain

PLOT:
A major malfunction sends Brainiac 5's genius IQ plummeting. To obtain the rare element needed to save him, Superman and Timber Wolf must travel to the most inhospitable planet in the galaxy -- and thanks to a transporter accident, they have only Brainy's head to guide them.

REVIEW:
After a long delay, LoSH & TB resume their episodes. I was willing to wait on these episode. Although, you shouldn't quote me on that. Because this was a fun show. And thanks to the episode list (of both shows), we knew the wait would be worth it. Let's continue....

This is actually the ninth episode. And in this ninth episode's opening prologue, we see that everyone is worried over Brainiac 5 because of how quiet and secretive he has becoming. Once he says that he's buliding a chamber for himself, the story starts off right there. When he goes in, he starts to go insane. And that stays that way after he leaves, which starts the problem of Brainiac 5: his I.Q. going down. Thats the comedy of this episode where he acts like what Lightnign Lad says "a three year old". Making jokes that are either funny or dry, funny moments like repeatly walking into a wall over and over again. Then we get the second problem when they go to the planet zoom: Brainiac 5's head made it but his body is missing and Superman's powers are gone (leaving only his flight ring to use). Leaving Timber Wolf, who grew up on the planet, to take charge. While the comedy continues when Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl go get Brainiac 5's body (which still moves without the head).

Brainiac 5 in this episode continues to be a friend to Superman. From a point of view, it goes back to how Brainiac 5 was designed for this show as a smart kid who went to college at age 12. But we , as comic book readers, know the reason why, and its because Superman will meet Brainiac 5's ancestor and be enemies. And since the first....to even the Phantoms episodes, that Braniac 5 knows everything about his kind and how Superman fits in all of it. It's interesing when you have two characters; one doesn't know a whole lot while the other knows a little too much. For example; since Brainac 5 is going nuts, he lets out some things. Like "rocks killed the last son; green, red, purple..." Like that.

Overall, this was a funny and still adventurous episode. Like the DCAU Phantom Zone Projector appearing in "Phantoms", we get another DCAU element in this episode: Timber Wolf and Superman fight off robots in the core, the robots that appeared in "World's Finest" three-parter. Only they're smaller. Again, this was funny and fun.

RATING: 8/10

You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

NEGATIVE.

I rate 4/10

Silly plot, juvenile storyline...unacceptable.

I think it may the fact I'm a little older than most here, but still...this toon has taken a dive in entertainment value. I know these CW/WB hero toons are aimed at young people but gaps can be bridged....The Batman is proof of that.

Therefore I do not approve.

I thought The Episode was great, I really did Like It, I also Liked The Scene Where Brainiac 5 tells Superman His Powers Comes From The Sun,and I also Liked how Superman knows Magic can hurt Him, and I liked how Brainiac 5 told Superman he would learn more stuff about himself in his Century, this is shaping up to be a great Show.
