Dude are you serious?!!! Did you not see how long that ckimax was lol? What more did ya want?
On a different note if anyone has seen Harold and Kumar go to White Castle who agrees with me that it was wierd in a funny way to see Kal Penn as Stanford (one of Luthors henchmen) after his role as Kumar?

superman didn't throw one punch. superman killed no one, but his son killed that one guy...lol.
but superman doesnt really fight when it comes to lex luthor. its more about saving people i guess...
and yeah, i couldnt take kal penn seriously. he was too funny in harold and kumar. thats like if bobby lee appeared in the sequel to batman begins as a henchmen.

This is a podcast review of Superman Returns by Comic Geek Speak:
http://media.libsyn.com/media/comicgeekspeak/cgs-supermanreturns.mp3
This is a spoiler episode. Pretty positive. Kinda funny on little jokes that pop up now and then.
Comic Geek Speak is a podcast that has had alot of episodes on everything comic books, movies, and the interviews of many like Stan Lee, Brain Michael Bendis, Geoff Johns among others.
They also did more movie review episodes like Batman Begins, Fntastic Four, and X-Men 3 which were all very good reviews. They also do comic review episodes on big events. They did the 7 issues of Infinite Crisis (each episode on each issue) and as of now, they did the two episodes of the two Civil War issues.

Even thought I've been away for along time from this site, I'll post my review from when I saw it June 28.
WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS, Read @ your own risk. [I'm breaking my review review into Three parts [Acting/ Preformance] [Action/ Speical effects] [Storyline]
Ok I saw The movie last night @ 10 : 00, And I have to say This movie was beyond Super, This movie was SPECTACULAR. The storyline of the movie was spectacular . The Cast was spectacular, The action is spectacular. Their was not one thing I didn't like about the movie. Not one.
We begin with [Acting/ Preformance]
Brandon Routh as SUPERMAN/KAL-EL/CLARK KENT - The Mantel of SUPERMAN has been pass on to the right Man. Routh is SUPERMAN his acting was beyond Super, It's SUPERB!!!. He nailed all three presona's . As SUPERMAN, he was strong confidentand he looked and acted like THE MAN OF STEEL. His voice as Sups was strong & powerful, very deep yet he had the soft smooth caim voice . As Kal-EL he really impressed me he show both the side of Kal-EL The Son who tries live to honor his Family [EL] & his speical race's Legacy. As Clark, He wasn't so much the bumbling reporter like Reeve, This Clark had a little more confindents in himself. He still pretented to act like the fool, but still you could see a difference between Routh's Clark & Reeve's Clark .
Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane - Kate was outstanding as Lois, the way Lois should be protradyed. Bosworth made a spectacular Lois. She was tough yet vulnerable, opinionated yet confused. She played her with a real depth and maturity that I absolutely fell in love with. She also gets to show Lois's strong side, as Lois puts herself in danger to save a woman early on in the film and then risks her life to save Superman later on. Finally we have a screen Lois who's as tough as she should be, and as compassionate as she needs to be.
Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor - Spacey's is 100 % Lex Luthor. He
was brilliant as Lex. He plays him with such passionate fire. I've never seen a live action Lex Luthor on screen Who was so determined, So obsessed to Destory SUPERMAN. When Lex was beating The crap out of Superman on New Krypton . OMG I wanted to kill him myself to save SUPERMAN. Spacey acting was Fantastic. He seem's to have taken little piece of every incarnation of Lex Luthor {from the comics, to The movies, To The tv series & cartoons} in his acting And yet he's never one-dimensional or flat. He's got motive and he's got depth, and he's also got a The villianous role dead on . Lex always puts himself first, and that's never more apparent than it is in this film. His performance is Incredible.
Tristan Leabu as Jason Lane I love The Kid, He was sweet & funny. He wasn't over the top or annoying at all . He fit's well into The story . He served a purpose . Ok Now for The Big reveal my opinion on it. I like the fact that We find out that little Jason is in Fact The Son Of Superman/Kal-EL Calrk Kent. We get a little preview of his powers . And we know he get's sick around Kryptonite . I thought it was super cool When One of Luthor's henchmen is prevented from killing Lois by Jason throwing a grand piano across the room at him and killing him. I also notice once he threw the piano Jason was no longer sick .
Parker Posey as Kitty Koslowski, Was mostly used for comic relief . still she got more heart and brains than Miss Tessmacher .
Sam Huntington as Jimmy Olsen. He was born to play that role. He mixes Jimmy's dorkiness with his humanity and caring, making himself truly worthy of being "Superman's Pal".
Frank Langella as Perry White was impressive . I wish he had more screen time .
Eva Marie Saint as Martha Kent, many of her scenes were cut, But she still managed to move me with heramazing preformance as Martha Kent.
James Marsden as Richard White, He was a good guy,
Stephan Bender As Young Clark Kent, Their were quite a bit of scene's cut so we didn't get to see much of him . But from What I saw he was really good .
Jack Larson as Bibbo Bibbowski , Jack was great seeing The first live action Jimmy Olsen in a Superman movie with The New Jimmy & Clark, even thought he did have much screen time. He still brought his A game to the table in his preformance.
Noel Neill as Gertrude Vanderworth, This would be Noel's second time in a Superman movie, The first time she was in The first Superman movie as Lois Lane's mother in The train scene When Lois first see's Young Clark Kent running @ Super speed .[Not to mention she was The very first woman to play Lois Lane in live action] Now she plays Gertrude Vanderworth a very rich old widow who Lex con out off getting her money before she died. Still even though Noel had a short scene it was still nice to see her .
The chemistry between Bosworth & Routh was SPECTACULAR . I really enjoyed every scene. And Now it's official Lois & Clark/SUPERMAN will end up together in the sequel. Singer has set it up prefectly . You can tell these two are Destined to be together. Now that they got a son. It will happen. The Flight scene between Lois & SUPERMAN was very beautiful & romantic . And that almost kiss was so close... I want to see them kiss . Man that was hot, you could feel the passionate fire that these two share . I can't wait for the sequel .
Now on to The action
Ok I loved every scene that displayed his powers. I'll rate them from Best to worst [meaning not enough screen time]
(1) FLIGHT - The Flying was Super awesome, Every flight scene was breathtaking . Routh made you believe A MAN CAN FLY just like Reeve.
every scene that has anything to do with Brandon Routh flying are done excellently. Singer said he worked hard on trying to capture as much flying styles as he could for use with this film and it shows.
(2) SUPER STRENGHT - OMG We got to see How strong SUPERMAN is. When He lefted All of New Krypton from the ocean all The way into outer space, which was full of Solid Green Kryptonite . That was a Superb!!! scene to see. when Superman caught the Daily Planet Globe. That was super.
(3) INVULNERABILITY -HOLY, The scene When The Bullets bounds right off of him was Incredibly Powerful . And When The bullet bounds hit his eye was marvelous .
(4) X-RAY VISION - The effect for his X-Ray Vision was Impressive, THE BEST version of X-ray vision .
(5) HEAT VISION - The Effect for Heat vision was just liked Smallville's only 10 X 10 better and much more advanced .
(6) SUPER HEARING - Loved it, need I say more .
(7) SUPER SPEED -Super awesome
\8/ SUPER BREATH - The effects were incredible, I just wished we got to see more of Super breath .
The storyline was Super, you got to see The Big Three move on, you got deeper into these iconic characters. Their was alot of good character devoplment. And more depth to the characters shown. And each of the changes made served a purpose . Overall I thought this movie payed Homage to every Incarnation of SUPERMAN thought history [From the comics, To The movies, to the tv series, to finally The cartoons] . The main theme of this story is not only a RETURNING story, but it's also a Emotional love story [Between Lois & SUPERMAN]Which for me was handle very well. You really wanted these two to be together. You felt the pain that Superman feels When Lois lies to Richard and tells him she doesn't love SUPERMAN, You fell the pain of Lois's anger & love for Superman when he returns after being gone for 5 years .But you also Feel the joy & happness When Lois shows she still loves SUPERMAN, And how clark feels finding out that Jason is his boy, his son, {that he thought he could never have}. Singer really did a great job, making sure that every piece of The story fits into place and that the main theme of the story is not lost in all the action & adventure . So overall For me in terms of The Best Superhero movie, BATMAN BEGINS still has that title. But SR is byfar The Best SUPERMAN movie ever & The Best Comic book Superhero movie ever.
(1) BATMAN BEGINS 10/10
(2) SUPERMAN RETURNS 10/10
(3) SPIDER-MAN 2 10/10
I give SR 10/10

My friend cited this as his reason for thinking that this film was good and not 'great'. I think this is a really shallow reason for not liking a film, especially a Superman film. I didn't notice nor did I care that Superman didn't throw a punch. That's not what he's around for.

I finally saw this movie in mid July, a while after this thread died down. So I just never posted my thoughts.
I watched the first two Reeve films before getting into the theatre. I'd never gotten the chance to see them beforehand and this film gave me no excuse. I really wanted the full knowledge and experience that every fan should have, and I'm glad I sat through those good and, at the same time, very bad films...
Superman Returns was just about everything I expected. It held ties with the original films but with a more serious and sometimes darker vision. Routh did a great job with all of his personas and Spacey's more menacing version of Hackman's Luthor fit perfectly. I've grown to admire the movie version of Luthor with his ability to be both evil and humorous, which is quite different from the comics. All other roles were well done, but I, too, wasn't crazy about the guy from the White Castle movie getting a spot as a henchman.
Unlike, Batman Begins, I didn't read any slightly spoiling news. All I watched were the regular TV spots and occasional clips during late night interviews, and it paid off. I had no idea about Superman's son which, by the way, was executed very well. The final shoving of the piano was an awesome scene, and I was very happy to see him not executing his superpowers anymore for the rest of the movie; we only got a taste.
Unlike the '70s films, Returns knew when not to be funny and didn't over do it. Luthor provided a lot of great lines while Superman's subtle and warm dialogue after a time or turmoil were always fitting. Constant bad acting on the part of civilians was not evident and the film remained virtually respectful in this aspect.
But much like the original '70s films, plot and story problems were evident. Luckily in this case, they were much less evident or crucial to the enjoyment. A powerless Clark Kent wearing a light jacket didn't walk all the way to the North Pole or anything of that nature, but the overall story just didn't feel very fluent. In the (incredible) climax, he's beaten, stabbed, and dropped off a cliff. But the recovery just didn't do much for me in how he's rescued. What's more, his escape from the hospital after supposed death went without explanation. It's difficult to critique thoroughly without seeing it again, and therefore, I can't say this was terrible.
I've seen people on TV bash the movie not for its loose plot but for its length and lack of excitement. I find this a totally bogus claim. My attention was held all throughout; however, the long extent of the film could be partially responsible my earlier criticism of a loose plot. In terms of excitement and neccesity, the whole film was quite enjoyable. I also think an explanation can be given for Superman's almost pacifistic approach in "not throwing a single punch." The asserted parallels between this and the mythic tale of Jesus Christ gave it a more epic sense of storytelling and could offer an answer to this criticism of nonviolence. An enthusiastic Richard Roeper went as far as calling it "The Passion of Clark Kent," and I'd have to agree.
Overall, I'd have to give it a rating of around 7.5 to 8 out of 10. The tight connection between this and the original films made for some great references and was done well, but I also think it's to blame for a lot of the story problems with Superman Returns. Plus, call me picky, but you can't quite capture Reeve's innocence and charm without the bright blue eyes. I don't see any reason why Routh couldn't have worn some contact lenses. It's certainly no Batman Begins, but I'm very glad that Superman has finally returned.

Whoa wait a second, before the amnesia kiss she also remembered that he was also clark kent, if they skiped that then why doesnt she know now thatnow in superman returns that clark kent still is just superman?..thoughts anyone? Cuz the holes are starting to emerge here. Ok so maybe they did it again between that time and now? Or seeing Jasons hiden strength just tells her that it had to have happen sometime in the past and she just doesnt remember? Urgh! lol
