yeah i totally agree with you Flabat, wrestling from the good old days needs to comeback because the stuff out there now is just not as good plain and simple. if you are lookin for some good wrestling tho id suggest checking out TNA, theyre on their way up to becming real competition for WWE. i hope they wil be so WWE cant start taking their fans seriously and not dish out the kinda crap weve had to deal with for a few years now. heh, its kool to hear guys speak highly of the deadman, theres a reason hes my fav ya know B)

managers coming back is a great idea. i think alot of factors which made wrestling so entertaining in the past have just been lost lately to the point where everyone notices that certain elements are missing, but never really figure out what they are or how to bring them back.

yeah Cale, wreslting is defintietly and artform, always underrated by non wreslting fans so dont hold your breath for it to get the respect it deserves. one of the all time greats once said something clever and yet also quite true. it went something liek this, "theres two kinds of ppl in the world... wrestling fans, and those who dont get it and wont ever."

lol funny story about virgil DF, hes an odd person. i dont mean hes weird or anything i just mean i dont think anyone can consider him a legend, i think ppl just cant forget him cuz of his association with dibiase, who in fact isa true legend.

batboy, ahem you are quite a bit young, but what you do on your own time is your business lol. but i will say that we'd rather you dont start sending ppl links to such pics here on the forum, im not saying that in an angry way at all, just a heads up thats all. as for the girl they picked for playboy this year. wow shes annoying! and i honestly dont even find her all that attractive either. torrie is annoying too but at least she looks good. i wish theyd hire more girls liek trish and melina who are both gorgeous (read = superduper hot) and talented, as opposed to the bimbos (read = well...bimbos!) who serve as one trick ponies like candace and her opponent torrie...just my opinion tho lol

i like the idea about banners for personal fav matches. the problem being theres really not any one match which is capturing my attn liek last year. id go with the taker match, but i dont want markhenry in my sig lol. the foley-edge match is prob what im looking forward to the most. foley has just been great the past few weeks and i think were in for a treat in a couple of days.

anyhoo im really excited about the hall of fame sat and of course the big on on sun. it oughta be a great wkend for wrestling fans!

I gotta say, I can't get too excited about the Foley match. He forever tainted himself in my eyes when he was that insipid fool Mankind during the mid-to-late '90s. My sister and my uncle are going halves on Wrestlemania this weekend and taping it for me, so I'll watch it sometime next week. Honestly, I'll probably wind up skipping a lot of it. I'm more interested in seeing the Hall of Fame inductions for this year.

Good call on Virgil, BDG. He's not a legend on his own, but a legend by association with Dibiase. Virg is a legend-in-law.

Closing thoughts: The McMahon/Michaels match should have them both sitting in the ring in Craftmatic adjustable beds, dueling with their walkers. I'd watch that. :bigrazz:

well WM22 is only minutes away. wanted to post in the thread quickly, my thoughts on the hall of fame, which i hope you guys rememebered to chekc out. it was nice but a bit rushed in ym opinion cuz they had one hour to show 3 inductions. the eddie induction was incredibly emotional, ill miss that guy for a long long time. austin/hitman took a total of 8-9 mins on tv last night but from what i understand austin actually spoke 10mins himself and bret took nearly a half hour, so you know ill be getting the dvd lol.

ill be back later tonight, with perhaps a mini review of what is to be this year's biggest show. yeah witha weak card liek this one, heres hoping thing end up being better on tv then they look on paper.

Hahah! You see McMahon on Raw this last week? You can not tell me that at 60 years old, he's not pumped like hell on steriods. He's bulkier than he was ten years ago.

The Hall of Fame Ceremony was pretty enjoyable. Seeing all those clips of Mean Gene was great. Really reminded me of how important he was in the business. And I loved his comment about being buried upside down.

Eddie's induction was very well presented also, but am I the only one annoyed like hell at Rey Mysterio in his giant suit jacket and dumbass mask? Give it up already. Everyone saw him without the mask in his late WCW days. He had maskless action figures and was featured in a video game maskless, so it's pretty well immortalized. Anyway, nice job, Chavo and Chris. Almost got me teary-eyed.

I kept wondering beforehand how Bret Hart would act about the whole thing, if he'd have a hard time being in front of a large crowd or what. But nothing came off surprising about the show and he presented himself well.

On WWE.com, Jerry Lawler said in an interview that Bret looks to be in great shape and he's surprised that Bret won't take an opportunity to work with the WWE again. Honestly, I doubt Bret's in the shape he used to be. It'd probably be more dangerous for him to get in the ring now and he's already said he doesn't want to be a manager or commentator, so it seems Lawler's either a dork or he's trying to suggestively put down Bret.

The full HOF Ceremony will be included on the WM22 DVD set, right? Gotta get me that. A half-hour of the Hitman sounds interesting. ::yellowsmile::

sorry but ive got to disagree with ya there batboy, that was actually a great wrestlemania. for a card that looked like crap on paper, it ended up being quite the pleasant surprise. everyone involved gave a damn good effort and and the show in ym opinion really delivered.

the hbk.vince match was incredible. nobody vince's age should be tkaing the kind of bumps he took, and i still cant believe shawn was once said to never be able to wrestle again considering the risks he takes putting his body on the line like he did at wm22! excellent job by both guys.

glad to see rey win as it seemed liek orton was a given and i just cant stand that guy lol. personally i would rather angle just retain the title but rey winning was kool and a nice touching moment regarding eddie.

cena and hhh, i wasnt really into the match for the most part, but by the time it ended i was really diggin it. itll be interesting to see how they handle this whole "hey lets boo cena cuz its kool to hate the guy" thing that the fans are doing. i actually liek cena now than anytime in the past. never liked the whole rapper gimmick and etc, but i cant help but give the guy alot of credit for going out there and honestly working his hardest all the time.

lol of course the match i kept a close eye on was taker/markhenry. i wasnt expecting much but wow taker really pulled anything out of his pocket to make this thing work. seeing him actually powerbomb and then tombstone the fat dude was great. and the icing on the cake was when he leaped across and out of the ring onto henry. i guess tkaer figured he'd have to go the extra mile in ordr to save this thing from being a dud.

foley and edge just mya have tied for stealing the showalong with vince/hbk. that was hardcore like we havent seen in a while, it sucks that foley once again came up short, but i think it was more important for him to have that all time great match at WM regardless of whter he won or not. and its better that edge won i guess since it helps futher his character. the fact that edge took the thumbtacks with no shirt on really made me respect the guy lol, and them both (foley mostly) going thru a flaming table...just wow!

the other matches were great too. its weird cuz like i said the card seemed very weak, but once it was showtime everyone apaprently made it a point to work as hard as possible to mkae the fans care about what was going on in each match, (excluding the pointless pillowfight lol) and it really showed. heres hoping they feed off this momentum for the next couple of months. i definitely reccomend getting the dvd for the event and of course for the hall of fame as well.

Great to hear, BDG. I started getting the feeling that it was quite an excellent show while watching Raw tonight. I'm about positive I'll get the DVD set. There's just too many wild moments to miss (especially Foley Vs. Edge and Money in the Bank).

I predicted the events results pretty well actually. ::yellowsmile:: They are as follows:

I couldn't see why the Tag Team belts would change unless Masters and Carlito cheated pretty bad. So there ya go.

In any great Hardcore match, Foley usually becomes the proverbial punching bag. You'd never see him put someone else through the top of a Cell, so I figured he'd be destroyed in some crazy yet glorious fashion.

Big ol' Henry had no chance in Hell at beating Undertaker. That's pretty well agreed on. 14-0.

Booker T Vs. Boogey Man was odd. Although I like Booker, I've never seen the Boogey Man in action, so I really couldn't figure.

I figured Beniot would retain the US belt, but apparently he didn't. I'm looking forward to seeing this bout; Beniot's one of my favorites.

I was pretty undecided on the Womens title match. Maybe I would've gone with Trish. ...And I didn't care to predict that Pillow Fight.

Money in the Bank is always hard to figure. I assumed one of the three Raw competitors would win, but couldn't pinpoint it.

HBK using a ladder to decimate the chairman seemed about right. Similar to Hogan Vs. McMahon at WMXIX.

Rey winning the World title would only make sense, and I figured he'd pin Orton for it. Orton's a smaller guy and the Heel that cheated Rey at the recent Pay-Per-View. Include the tribue to Eddie and you've got yourself a guarenteed new champ.

Triple H has had the World strap 10 friggin' times, and I didn't see much reason to take the belt away from a highly acclaimed champ. I was confused at the fans' booing tonight, but this is getting very interesting.

Tonight's Raw was very good. The Tag Team loss was realistic; I'm just not sure what else Kane and Big Show have to do on Raw. Chavo's moment was pretty realistic too, losing his Intercontintal shot. I'd be glad to see him get a push. Cena looked like such a dork losing to Triple H. This situation is gaining momentum quickly.

Oh yeah, he's definitely in good shape for his age. Still an old man, though. I could take him. wink

My uncle taped Wrestlemania for me, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I've heard some bizarre descriptions of HHH dressing up like He-Man... I'll have to see that, I think. too damn weird to pass up.

Better not let my nephew hear any of you dissing Mysterio, though. He loves that guy. I was messing with him once, and told him that Mysterio used to be called the Iron Ballerina. He wore a pink tutu in the ring, and his weapon was a chain covered with pink lace. He got whipped all the time, then changed his name and started wearing the mask so people wouldn't recognize him. I made all this BS up on the spot. I figured my nephew would know I was just messing with him-- he's a smart 7 year-old-- but he totally believed it, and got so mad he was almost crying. I felt bad, having to tell him I made it all up after all that.

We've got some local wrestling league that's started doing a show at the multi-purpose center in town every month or so. I haven't been able to check it out yet, but a few peopl I now have gone and they say it's entertainingly awful. For $8, I'll check it out next time it's in town.

Actually, I think he's supposed to look like Conan the Barbarian. The whole set-up looks really familiar anyway. People are making fun of that scene, and I don't blame 'em. But one thing's for sure, they won't forget something like that. And that's probably what matters most. ::yellowsmile::

Speaking of He-Man, wasn't that funny when Cena, Triple H, and Edge all started talking crap to each other on Raw by using He-Man names? It was getting pretty lame by the time Edge called someone She-Ra. The way it crappily played out, that couldn't have been scripted. ::yellowroll::

Yeah, he does look more like the image of King Conan from the very end of the first Conan movie, but he still has the cross that is on He-Man's armor. And Thor's hammer. I guess they were just trying to cover all the stereotypes. Smile
Boy, does that watter bottle look out of place.

It was at the very beginning of the show. Cena called one of them Skeletor (probably Edge) and may've called Triple H He-Man. Then Edge went "Well She-Ra over here..." and got cut off. It sounded kinda sloppy and unscripted. I'm waiting for a bunch of Batman references. Maybe Trish will call Mickie The Joker. She was Faker on Raw. ::yellowsmile::

Yeah, that water bottle looked odd. Maybe he should've had a goblet. Then again throwing it at the audience probably wouldn't be a good idea...

A Raw event is going on about an hour away from here tonight. I wanted to go, but my brother doesn't seem to now. A friend of mine apparently got front row seats because he's wheel chair-bound, so I had the idea of obtaining a wheelchair, having my brother play fake-crippled, and getting front row seats, but we couldn't get one. We truly have no dignity. ::yellowrolleyes::
