Like Superman changing at lightning speed from reporter Clark Kent to his caped alter ego, Dane Nash is hurrying as fast as possible to get his American Super Heroes Museum, 20 W. Louisiana St., up and running.

Last fall, he announced his plan to open a museum; now the lease is signed.
He's aiming at a March opening.
Because the part of the building he's using never had electrical service or other utilities, "It falls under new construction, even though it's a turn-of-the-century building.
"We thought we were going to be able to just do city permits for the improvements and betterments, but the state came in and said no, they wanted to look at it again," says Nash.
Nash says that development gives him more time to finish other things.
A complete crew is waiting to jump in to finish the work. He is backed by an unnamed investor.
Unlike Metropolis, Ill., the official home of Superman, where Jim Hambrick's Super Museum celebrates the super- hero's life, Indianapolis has no connection to the character.
But Nash, retired from the property insurance business, is a Hoosier, and the Fishers man wanted to keep the collection here while offering the public a chance to see what he has spent his life acquiring and protecting.

Sounds cool to me. Last time I was in Indy, 1981 Car Craft Magazine Street Machine Nationals, I got to do a parade lap in my car at the Brickyard. I hope Beyond can let us know when it opens and maybe get some pictures and an interview with the owner.

We were finally able to get there ....

And let me tell you. I won't go back. It's 5 dollars a person to walk through. Thats not bad really, BUT.. it takes 5 minutes to walk through, 10 if you take your time. It's mostly Superman, and there is ALOT of neat stuff, but nothing that you need to stare at for hours. There are a few costumes which are neat. The Batman section is nothing big at all. The Batboat for the series, and a replica of the Keatonmobile. It's not a very nice replica either. There are a few other props from the movies, Tires for the Tumbler, but really.. thats it.

The owner at first was nice, but he clearly wasn't intrested in talking Heroes, to be the big fan he says he is, it seems like he's more intrested in making the money.

We could take pictures but my camara died. But if you go here: http://www.heroesmuseum.com/photos.htm That is over half of the muesum...

So if you are close to Indy, you might look it up, but be prepared to be unamazed...
