anyone like the idea?
they went from true to original to something totally new. i saw the first episode, and it wasnt bad. but the show was good as it was. i'll give fast foward a try, maybe itll be liek batman beyond and be something good. i was a little iffy when batman beyond came out, but once i started to watch it, i loved it.

they look really cool!

If your talking about the series that premeried last Saturday, I didn't think much of it. But, I only saw a few moments of it, but it looked to me that the animation was worse, I kind of got the idea that the company was running out of money so they made another show to try to get a few more viewers. Anyways, that's what I got from it, could be wrong.

yeah, i think thats the idea. lol. but im giving it a chance. it might be good.
i wouldnt say that the animation was worse, i thought it was great. its just that the art style was different and it was less gritty.

Weird, it's like Tony Hawk's XTreme Turtle Clan. I definitely prefer the original look and the old-school animated design over this style, though I didn't see the show so I can't say anything about it. |

i saw the first 2 episodes. i think its good so far; very flashy and has lots of action. its definetely different, but ninja turtles changes all the time; i can accept change. there is no "original" ninja turtles. some people see it as the old 80's cartoon and some see it as the comics. i really dont care; as long as the story is good and the art is good, then im in.
and besides, the idea of changing the direction of the series was done by the original creators of tmnt. this is good stuff!

Sure there is. If you ever get the chance, check out the Words & Pictures Museum of Fine Sequential Art in Northampton, Massachusetts. It was founded by one of the original creators of the TMNT, and they have a ton of some of the earliest TMNT work there. At least, they did the last time I was there...but that was a few years ago. There was definitely a distinct style to the turtles back in their early days. |

I didn't even know about this concept, but I bet my older brother has been watching for it. We were huge TMNT fans in the late '80s and '90s (who the hell wasn't?).
But if you want to talk gritty, futuristic Ninja Turtles, you might want to check out what Image Comics did with the green skins back in the late '90s. Donatello became a cyborg, Raphael lost an eye, and it was black & white and violent like the original Mirage comics... But too violent and screwy though.
