Beautful work, batgirl. Very reminiscent of Jim Lee's, but it's good that you're trying to develop your own style. The second Batman reminds me of the Zipline Batman action figure. I'm more interested in drawing human form than vehicles too, but it would be a nice trait to work on here and there. I'd like to see your Batmobile rendition.
I take it you're going to college for art? I was going for an Associates in Art, but the few art classes they had kept getting cancelled because no one was signing up (except me), so I switched to Graphic Design. I'm not trying to develop my drawing skills as much, not like I was hoping, so I feel like they're behind my expectations. It seems a lot of people in my GD classes can't draw worth a crap and just want to use Photoshop for everything, so I look good around that crowd.
It's hard to come up with a style of pencilling only. Usually I want to ink and color my own work, but if I ever work for DC that obviously would never work. I'd get one comic out a year!!
Actually I'm getting a degree in graphic design too, but I take most of the art classes too. Art is my real passion, but graphic design is something I know I can make money on, and not become a starving artist, if my plans for being a comic book artist, or maybe a famous painter backfire!! Aside from drawing comic book characters, I really love to do oil paintings. Maybe I can do some oil paintings of comic characters, and try out to be a painter for DC, instead of a penciller. Combine both things I love. On the DC art submission form, one of the position you can try out for is a painter, I think that's what they mean by that, I don't know though. Does anyone know what a painter for a comic book would do?

That's a pretty neat coincidence. I had that same mentality when I went to Graphic Design. I still want to take more drawing classes to stay full time, given they fit in well with my schedule. I had those high aspirations of being a comic artist, but I'm not betting on it.

I think alot of the people who can draw and do graphic design think the same way. You don't exacly have to be an artist to do graphic design, but if you can draw, it really helps.

Ok, that's what I thought. DC barely has any painters, so I wasn't sure.
