check this out...

Apparently it was the real thing. I realised afterwards that the logos on the side weren't the authentic red bats like in the series, but I guess it'd been repainted since the 60s. Unfrtunately it wasn't the real Adam West though, as you can see. Some of the kids walking round had better costumes than him...

That is really cool (the carm not the costume). I saw one at the Guinness World Record Museum in Gatlinburg, TN a long time ago. Very cool. I wonder why someone would put the wrong emblems on the car though.

Very cool, but it's not the original one used on-screen. There are a few places where the details are wrong - the hood scoop is too wide, the point of the hood doesn't overlap the nose of the car, the rocket tubes are spaced a little far apart, there's too much of a "break" between the fins and the trunk line, etc.

Still, a nice replica. The original, for anyone who wants to see it, is in the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles. It too lacks the 1960s style bat-emblems, thanks to some licensing issues with Warner Brothers.

Oh, one other trivia bit: yes, it was repainted since the sixties. The screen-used Batmobile was the one used in the "Legion of Superheroes" show, and sometime between the two series the car had been covered in a fuzzy cloth texture (often referred to as the "bat-fuzz" years). Since then, the car has been repainted gloss black with the red pinstripes, though it still needs a full restoration.
