I thought his son was living with his ex wife, but accoring to wikipedia he's dead. And Tony Gordon to my mind never died, but was erased after infitite crisis. Is this just a bad error on Wiki's part?
(BTW, does anyone think bringing Gordon back was a good or bad idea? I mean, didn't everyone see that coming?) |

We all knew he'd be back.
To my knowledge, he never died (the son) but was just never talked bout.

Its prolly because Barbara is more well known.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

And I'm the surgeon.

If a story in which James Jr. dies exists, I've never heard of it. Considering how extensive my collection of everything Batman and Batman-related from the past 20+ years is, it's possible that such a story was published without my knowledge, but not bloody likely.
Yeah, we all knew it was a matter of time before Gordon was reinstated as commissioner, but it's more than welcome. It NEEDED to be done. His retirement was an interesting subplot, but it had long since run its course.

I think that I have heard about Gordon's ex-wife and son dying in a car wreck when they returned to Chicago, but I have never seen any issues backing it up. I think that it may just be someone reading between the lines and making a jump in conclusions. Basically they were just never talked about again after Year One.

With Gordon back, does that make The Dark Knight returns canon to the series? (So he can 'retire' again like in DKR) It is a possibility.
His son has been mentioned in the long halloween and dark victory (Plus other early legends of the dark knight issues)
In the issue that Sarah Essen dies, (No Mans Land) when Gordon has a gun pointed at the joker, the joker says "You have a little boy too, don't you?" And he then shoots Joker in the leg. This implies that he's still alive.
About the car wreck, wasn't that with Barbra Gordon's real mom and dad. (Batgirl Barbra, not gordons first wife, can be easily confused.)
I wonder what happened to akins? I bet he's dead. Or somehow turned into a villian. |
