I was going through the January 23 issue of Publisher's Weekly. I found in their summer suggestions a listing for Absolute Kingdom Come in July and Infinite Crisis in August.
Absolute Kingdom Come (July, $75) by Mark Waid, art by Alex Ross, returns in a 10-year anniversary Absolute edition with character sketches, annothations, rare art, and more
Infinite Crisis (Aug., $24.99) by Geoff Johns, art by Phil Jimenez and Andy Lanning, redefines Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the DC Universe for the next generation.
Pretty cool. The Kingdom Come would be good if it points out all the little things that Alex Ross slipped into the art. There are so many easter eggs in there, I bet Ross can't find them all anymore. Also nice to see that the people who wait for trades won't have long to wait for the Infinite Crisis trade. Best guess is that this is a hardcover since a paperback would be $5-$10 cheaper typically.

That sounds pretty cool. I only have two issues of Kingdom Come, and still haven't read the story, so maybe I outta pick this up and get the cool bonus stuff while I'm at it. I'll make sure and wait it out though, so I can try and get one cheap off eBay...

August ehh, that's not too bad of a wait for the Crisis trade paperback, I was expecting something a little later on, but this is great.

Kinda iffy about paying that much for Absolute Kingdom Come. Could go either way, depending mainly on the quality of the extras. It's a good story, but not a favorite of mine. Plus, it definitely won't get bought until I get Absolute Watchemen, and get the last volume of Batman by Neal Adams. Those are my next big book purchases. I definitely want a collection of IC, since it's handier to read that than pulling out single issues, but I may just hunker down and wait for the inevitable Absolute Edition of it.

Is there any news on that Crisis collection? Because I discussed what I wanted for the collection on dccomics.com and they might've look at what I said and did it. Since its 25.00 dollars, and not the standard price of 10-20 dollars.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

There was just a little blurb, no image no features. They might not really list out any specifics until the March Solicitations since the months will cover the trade being released in July. I wouldn't expect too much extra stuff being included since they now have the Absolute format to release the extras with (when did trades become like DVDs?). Best guess is the inclusion of the 14 covers and the 7 issues in a hardcover. Just an educated shot in the dark though.

Yeah, like DK said, the Ic collection is likely to be pretty bare-bones. We might luck out and a few cool extras like with last fall's ID Crisis hardcover, which had some pretty good stuff to go along with the story.
