In Birds of Prey #98 There is suppose to be a new batgirl!!!  Wheather it is Cassandra or Barbara (which I really hope it is, but I don't know how) or a new person, I don't know.
This is what it said on www.dccomics.com about #98:
There's an eerily familiar Caped Crusader running around the Birds' territory?one that's freaking out Huntress and Black Canary. But Oracle's life will be the most affected by this heroine's bizarre return!
And this is what it says about #99:
It's time for a change in the Birds' outfit ? and the writing is on the computer screen that at least one member of the team will be moving on. With issue #100 just around the corner, now seems the perfect time for a reality check.
Now I don't know about you, but it sounds like Barbara is going to be batgirl again somehow .... or it just may be wishful thinking. What do you guys think or hope?

In a previous issue, Barbara could move her toes again. And since they want to go back to the character's before their changes that affected them greatly (ex: Batman being a dick) they might wanna say "Barbara Gordon is Batgirl" and give her back that mantle.
You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

I hope so!!!!!!! I read that in issue 96, the new batgirl rescues an old couple from muggers, and the say "Batgirl is back!!" I haven't read it, but I have to go to the comicbook store and find it!!

thats cool. i guess cassie isnt batgirl anymore. she belongs to the asylum now, lol. that crazy girl...sucks for robin though. hes losing his loved ones one after another.

So I bought #96 yesterday, and batgirl is wearing the original Babs costume, with the yellow gloves and boots. I think if it was Cass, she would have worn her own costume. Her hair looks kinda purple, so you can't tell, but it looks more black. Or that could have been an artistic choice to conseal her identity. I guess if they flat out made it red it would be obvious.
Where are the birds of prey located? In that part with Batgirl, it's located in Gotham.

Ok here's some more ideas:
I just read on the dc comics mb that martian manhunter will be in birds of prey 100. Didn't he offer to give babs back her legs one time?
In the Identity crisis or infinite crisis stories(I don't know I haven't read either) wasn't there like another world that had like different versions of the characters? I don't know, I just know what I read on the internet. Maybe its a different verion of batgirl.
I hope it's not Betty Kane though. They brought back Kathy as batwoman....  But the hair doensn't look blonde though.

Well I don't want to burst anyones bubbles but I don't think it will be Barbara, only because if Gail Simone is writing it expect the unexpected. Granted someone could possibly be leaving in issue 99, a lot of people are pointing fingers at Dinah, but everything is up in the air right now.
And besides my guess for who is the new Batgirl is Jason Todd!
ALSO; I believe you might have misread the DC Comics boards wrong, or they have new information. Martain Manhunter isn't suppose to guest star, Manhunter is. They are two different characters.

I would LOVE to see Barbara Gordon return as Batgirl. I can only wish. I have been so busy trying to save my computer that I have had no time to look at the comics. But I would love to see Barbara Gordon return as the Batgirl, because she rocks!!

And 98 says" it's freaking out Huntress and Black Canary", not Oracle. Which could be that I'm examining the description way too much, or that Babs already knows who batgirl is. But it also says "Oracle's life will be the most affected".
I did read it wrong. I've never heard of Manhunter. So that idea is out, but that doesn't mean that Babs couldn't have gotten feeling back in her legs. Maybe after she could move her toes she got some more feeling back over time, and she kept it a secret. And the writers just wanted everyone to think they forgot. But really Babs has full use of her legs and has been hiding it so she could train herself to be batgirl again!!!
I think I'm getting my hopes up too much...

Lol!! I like how Cass made batgirl a darker character, and more like batman, but I'll always love Babs best!!! I think if she went back to being batgirl now, after being in a wheelchair and having an important role as Oracle and everything, she would give batgirl more substance. She'd be torn between whether she was more useful as Oracle and whether she'd be able to even be batgirl again. She'd have to retrain herself totally since she's been in a wheelchair for so long. It could be a really good story!!

The marriage thing was just a cliffhanger before Infinite Crisis. I would guess that something will be told in 52,but the marriage seems to have been called off in One Year Later. Then again the whole New Earth thing could have undone it.
It looks like Cassie Cain will be appearing in Teen Titans
From the DC Nation Panel at Wizard World Chicago.
Asked about seeing the Cassandra Cain Batgirl again, Johns said that she is the Batgirl in the upcoming ?Titans East? stryline in Teen Titans.
It will be interesting to see how things that happened in Robin pan out with this news being posted.

That was news fot Teen Titans not Birds of Prey. Things have gotten so unpredictable between the various Baty-universe comics, I don't know what is going to happen in Birds of Prey.
BOP is written by Gail Simone, who is a great and very unpredictable writer. Hopefully DC will release a full cover image sometime before the issue is released. If they don't, I will be sure and keep an eye out when it is released in September.
