Looking again,
Is Robin wearing TWO capes (one long one on top of a shorter scalloped one)?

The costume still looks EXTREMELY similar to the TNBA version, only longer sleeves (even the chest "dashes" are the same as the Tim Drake/kid version).

i'm sure the animated series impacted the comics in more ways than just robin's new costume. tell me if i'm wrong, but i think they took out the yellow oval because of TNBA. i dont know for sure, but i think it sort of had an impact.
and dont forget harley's addition, and batman beyond's cameo in batman and superman.

The animated shows definitely impacted the comics in many ways. They symbol change-- dropping the oval was coincidental, though. Still, Mr. Freeze's origin was retold in a way more similar to that of the animated show-- not surprising, since that comic was written by Paul Dini. The overall look of "New Gotham"-- rebuilt after NML-- was inspired by the animated show. There was a big move toward trying to capture the feel of the animated series in the late '90s, as stated several times by Denny O'Neil, who was then the group editor of the Batman family of comics. This isn't the first time the comics have been inspired by other media. Another recent example is the way architecture from the '89 Batman film was incorporated into the comics, and these designs remained until Gotham was rebuilt after NML.

Sorry 'bout the other thread, I didn't know this was up. And thanks for locking the thread Chris, you're always there to make me feel like a jack ass.
Robin does look a little funny, maybe it's his stance. Anyway, I think Batman looks awesome, so does Joker. Can't wait for these.

I didn't think I'd want any of these figures, but them I noticed them in the store. Robin looks much better than in the ads, he's the first one I got. Damien is in a drawer, although with the current story arch, I may grow to like him enough to display him. Then I got the Batman, which is among the best I've seen. I was bummed when I found out that the Joker was sold out, but then I found one left, and grabbed it! I'm really not interested in the Man-Bat, so I've got all I want. I really want to display a good Nightwing alongside my Robin, so I ordered the Mattel one. Hope they look good together.

I recently won the Joker on eBay for $12.50 shipped, which I thought was an excellent price - especially since I'll never find it locally.
It finally arrived yesterday, and while I haven't opened it yet, it looks great from what I can see.
I've decided to find all my enemies and tell them I forgive them. I want to give my vengeance the element of surprise.

These figures are not bad, but some of them seem to have issues with their feet being turned up and giving them a lean forward. The Joker and Robin seem the worst of the set with this issue.

I got the set yesterday - I think they look great. I've not opened them yet. I didnt like Damian when I saw him in the pictures but he looks better in real life.

I got my new Nightwing action figure from Mattel, and I love it! He's standing next to my Batman & Son Robin! It's a near perfect match.
The Joker is great, but I did have to position him a few times to figure out how he wouldn't fall down. The Batman is great, among the best I've seen.
