I can see Robin coming into the Begins series, it doesn't really matter to me if he does or doesn't though *shrug*.

I think it's funny.. People wanted Robin when TAS was on. Now they don't. Not in The Batman, nor in the movies. Robin can be a great character if done right. Dick Grayson, and Tim Drake are both as dark, and I think sometimes, darker than Batman.

A recent story in Teen Titans (the comic, where the real stories are) had them traveling to the future, and they met their possible future selves. Tim had become a Batman darker and more ruthless than Bruce could ever be. Basically like Frank Miller writes Batman.big grin

Any of the Robin's could potentially go to the same psychological state as Batman or worse. Bruce didn't adopt the Batman persona until he was in his adult years. Imagine being a boy of 15, see your parents murdered, getting trained by a pissed off guy who went through the same thing you did, applying the same methods of "theatricality and deception," hanging out in a cave dwelling on vengeance, and seeing the worst of humanity for the remainder of your life....you might get pretty screwed up in the head.
I think Robin has tremendous potential as possibly the most interesting character of all.

I agree Batcroz. Thats what I don't get with Nolan.. Goyer is a comic book writer, he knows how Robin could be. Instead they all , including fans, think of him as this happy go lucky, burt ward, Chris O'Donnell type. Pisses me off. LOL

Burt Ward and Chris O'Donnell had their place in their respective films (except for O'Donnell's mindless whining in B&R!!). But a young Robin, with the fury of a teenager who thinks he's indestructible...great storytelling. Goyer would make it cool...I have no doubts.

According to Wikipedia:

DC Comics back in 1939 was looking into a second superhero after huge success with Superman. Bob Kane offered his idea of a superhero with no powers, but didn't have anything else. He got the job and began working on it with writer and friend Bill Finger.

As you know about it; Kane thought of Birdman, but Finger insisted on Batman. And.....bloop, lee, bloop. But what happened was that DC at the time gave credit to Bob Kane because he the only one who offered his idea. More along the lines of them (DC circa 1939) saying; "Bill Finger wants to write it, fine. But you gave it to us, you get the credit, and only you."

You don't get it, boy... this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table.

Well, they had no way of knowing he was going to die! It was still bad, though.
