Sardath is able to transport Ellen, Buddy, Adam and Kory back to San Diego to fight off the Sterilizers. Ellen sends Buddy with Starfire to try to communicate with the Healers once again using Buddy's advanced knowledge of alien languages that came along with his new powers. Buddy tells his wife that he loves her and flies off to the Healers where he is able to convince them that he has a cure. Champ Hazard tries to stop Starfire from emitting the sun-rays neccesary to kill the virus but the Healers, sensing interference with the possible cure, sic the sterilizers on Hazard. When the sterilizers clear out, Hazard is gone. Adam is teleported back to Rann where he is re-instated as the planet's protector and offered a seat on the concil. Starfire leaves the Baker household for San Francisco to meet back up with the Titans. Meanwhile deep in outer space, Lady Styx has returned and is in possession of Champ Hazard's corpse which her minions are in the process of re-building. She vows that the word of Lady Styx will be visited upon all who live.

She offers them the energy they need in exchange for the protection of a newborn planet from the Tsachians which seek to devour its life-force. Forerunner brings the infant planet to where it needs to be and transports herself and her crew to the planet's surface to try and lure the Tsachian queen to them. Soon after they arrive, the Tsachians begin attacking. Using Hierophant as a medium between themselves and the planet's psyche Forerunner learns that the planet may be able to fend for itself if it is given the proper genetic coding necessary to form temporary antibodies to combat the Tschaians. Forerunner supplies her own blood and begins to battle the Tsachians while the planet forms the antibodies. Finally the antibodies are formed and chase away the life force seeking Tsachians. One week later the planet is already beginning to process water to form oceans. Hierophant informs Forerunner that her genetic code to form the building blocks for the life forms which will populate the planet. The planet will soon begin to give life to a new race of Forerunner species. Forerunner gives the Iron Raider to Gana and sets up a home on her new planet as she prepares to raise the new breed of Forerunners in a life of peace and tranquility.
