While searching for an animal's power to call on, Animal Man realizes that he can now call on the powers of any creature in the entire universe - thanks in part to his space travels. While Starfire battles the rabid mob, Animal Man tries to talk with the Healers but they do not respond. Thinking quickly, Animal Man uses a solar panel to reflect sunlight onto the mob, neutralizing them and curing them of the virus. Kori is upset and says that she does not need Buddy to constantly be saving her. Adam Strange evades Champ Hazard by leaping from the window of the tower and manages to grab ahold of a flag pole and use it to swing into the window of a lower level. He finds a storage unit and breaks in and claims another rocket pack and blaster.

When Monarch shows up Forerunner is angered that he did not step in while Dark Angel was threatening his life. Forerunner then states that the JLA of this Earth have suffered enough and don't need to join their army. Monarch extends the offer to them once again but they do not accept. Once Monarch and Forerunner leave Lady Flash reveals that she did not accept because Ray Palmer was already there and offered them a much more reasonable alternative to the coming disaster (she has been inoculated against the Morticoccus virus). Back at the base, Monarch attacks Forerunner for challenging his authority and says that he regrets having to kill her. After training Monarch's army one final time, Monarch arrives to announce the commencement of his tournament and says that he has no further need for Viza. Monarch teleports Viza out of his base in the Bleed and out into the middle of space where she begins to suffocate...
